  At the risk of sounding like Emily Post... To do a pre-printed message on a thank you card (for any kind of occasion) is really tacky. We will be doing photo thank you cards also, but they will be two sided... One side for a photo with "Thank You" printed on it, and one where I will hand write a message thanking them for their specific gift or taking the time out to celebrate.

  I kinda feel the same way. Even a short handwritten note to personalize each one would be nice.  

  I'm in this group. At least SOMETHING should be hand written and make it clear you made this for them, not just a mass mailing. Why not make postcards with thank you written on the front and on the postcard side do a personal thank you. "Thank you so much for coming, we are so happy you were here to celebrate with us" Or "Thank you so much for the generous xxx, she loves it and it was very thoughtful"

  The postcard is a great idea....I didn't know they made things like that so will have to do some research. Thanks

  No body got time for that! If I had a lot to send out I totally would make a mass produced card that is general saying Thank you for making LO's day special. You are one uping me because I am not going to even send thank you's. My family and friends are very non formal and would not even expect one. We will be saying thank you when they are here to celebrate! 

  Thanks for making me feel better about sending a card with a general saying.  You are right, I don't have time for it and I already thanked everyone.  This is more of a follow up thank you with a picture so everyone can have a picture of LO with her cake, but wanted to take the time to thank them again

  I'm writing my thank you notes right now actually. I'm only sending 8, and each will have the same message (basically), but they're handwritten. I'm doing it from DS's point of view ("Thank you for coming to my party! I love my fire engine!") because it seems odd to write an adult thank you message in a card with a monkey and a cake on it, lol.

  It is a really nice thought and gesture don't get me wrong and if you send them out that is more than awesome, I just feel that it really isn't necessary. I have never received one from my friends or family and It doesn't bother me any. I know they were glad I came and brought a gift. I went because it was fun and I wanted to get a gift for them. They said thank you as I will and that is that. 

  If you thanked them in person, thank you cards aren't not as big of a deal IMO, especially if it's not something other people in your circle do. I'm sending them because my ILs judge me hard core if I don't. And yet they've never sent one to me...
