Period after IUD?

Hi Ladies,

DH and I are starting to 'work' on TTC, but I'm not sure about timing. I had an IUD until mid-June. I had some bleeding the week after but I've been told that that was probably bleeding from the IUD removal as opposed to a period. As of yet, I haven't yet had a period. I was wondering what your experiences are (those of you who have had IUDs that is)? How long after removal did you get a regular period?

    I got mine out in February and got my period in April.  I also had some slight bleeding after removal but it definitely was not my period.  Also I did not get my period for 4 out of the 5 years I had my Mirena in.

    I had my IUD removed on June 27, I did not have a period for 3 and 1/2 years while I had the Mirena.  Since removal I have not had any bleeding but I did instantly begin doing OPK's.  It has been 2 weeks and 2 days since removal and I received a positive OPK this morning.  Best advice do not stress and go ahead and start charting as much as you can.  It just helps time go by because if you are anything like me you want to just know your body is going to get back to normal ASAP.

    I just had my Mirena removed this week. I am having the light bleeding you described. I am interested to see the responses because I am eager to know what is going on with my body to start TTC again.

    I had my mirena removed March 20th and had withdrawl bleeding starting March 22nd that last a few days and was very heavy. I had very light periods while on mirena and my last one was March 4th. I had a period again around April 4th and I considered that my first one after removal. 

    Additionally, my OB instructed that I wait to TTC until I had two "normal" cycles. I l believe so that my uterine line would thicken.

    Did you have the Mirena or Paraguard? I had the Paraguard and had cramping and spotting for 3 weeks, then my period. This is my second month off of it and I'm hoping I have a "regular" cycle.
