Eeeek! We had "the talk"

DH and I discussed permanent birth control options tonight. I think I am going to call our insurance tomorrow and find out if we need a referral for a specialist and get things started for him to have a vasectomy. I was nervous to talk about it, but I feel ok about the decision.

    Good! We are going down the same path. Just waiting until dh builds time from being off work to schedule the surgery.

    You'll be so glad when it's done! My husband got his final clearance for no swimmers a month or so ago and it is so weird to be off birth control for the first time in like 15 years (except being pregnant, of course). I would've stayed on but I developed pretty severe melasma (giant dark spots, if you aren't familiar) all over my face and hormonal birth control is said to make it worse. I've been off 6 weeks and my face is already lightening up. For that reason alone, I'm happy that it's done!

    My husband had it done 2.5 years ago. It was an easy procedure. I'm glad we did it.

    DH went through the initial consultation a couple months ago but then developed unrelated health issues. We should be able to revisit it soon, however.

    My husband is having a vasectomy next week. It's the real deal now! I'm so glad I don't have to take birth control any longer!!

    I had my tubes tied almost 2 years ago , and I loved not having to worry about birth control.
