Whoa. I admit I was psycho about tracking feeding and diapers for the first 4 mo but that was so I didn't lose my mind and forget who had already eaten and when!
I tracked feedings for a lot longer than I needed to, but it was always about my comfort level, really, and not about DD. This would probably bother me less if it wasn't yet one more article puppeting "my way is the right way." I seriously expected it to eventually be a joke... and it wasn't.
I mean, whatever works for you... But IMO this woman sounds like an obsessive nut job...

Hmmm...that was interesting! I certainly don't possess the discipline to behave like that, but we totally need to start reading more Popular Science to G ;] I say whatever works...but this is not our style.

While her discipline and dedication to being so organized is admirable, this kind of attention to detail is not for me. Plus, at what point are new columns of information just too much? I want to know how much time she spent filling it out daily.
And for the record, the hubs and I had an "Input/Output" spreadsheet on Dean as instructed by the pediatrician for a couple weeks because he was having weight and feeding issues. Yeah, I have nowhere near that patience.
This article totally gave me the Heebie Jeebies! Especially this line: "We realized that we could quantify and study her in an attempt to optimize all of her development."
Um, yeah... I can't wait until they try and quantify and study her teenage years!
ETA: I also used a spreadsheet for the first 2 months, until B's weight gain was back on track due to all the issues we had, but stopped after his 2 month appt when the pedi said we were right where we needed to be.
I tracked Jackson for the first 4 months. Now I just track Dr appointments with growth and weight. Them having to ask their Dr what they were rated shows they need that reassurance that they are great parents. To each their own but I think they are a little TOO much in love with spreadsheets
