  Thanks for asking. So much has happened since her Chicago party that I almost forgot about it. The party was a very casual, last minute event, almost an after thought so I didn't put a lot of effort into planning.
  
  It was my cousin not SIL whose son has the life threatening allergies. In the end she, her mother and 10 month old daughter did show up. She mentioned a few times how it's too bad het son can't attend but not in an accusatory tone. Although I told her Ivdid not include any food or items made from food, i.e. Play Doh, in the goody bag she still emptied it to make sure it was safe for him.
  It must be very challenging to either parent or be a child with multiple, life threatening allergies but it is unrealistic to demand that every event be about them and what they can and cannot eat.
