FB Page

There is a page on FB that I follow called Baby Bumps Beyond... Some of the fan questions and answers posted on there really make me wonder why most humans are even able to reproduce... One question today was about a woman not getting her period anymore and wondering if she could still conceive. The medically accurate answer is No, if you are not mensturating then you're not emulating and should consult your OB/GYN. Some of the answers to questions just blow me away... One answer was, " yes, I have 4 kids all less than a year apart from eachother and haven't had a period in 3 years."... Well, you probably haven't had a period in 3 years because you've pretty much been pregnant for 3 years...

I don't get it? I was taught in school about reproduction, so before I even had fertility issues or losses I knew how to get pregnant... How are so many people ignorant about their own bodies?

Re: FB Page

  • Bahaha! I'm curious and am going to follow it! It kills me that you need a license to fish but not to procreate!! Lol there are some gems out there!!
  • Loading the player...
  • I'm just going to try not go off here. But you are right. What bothers me even more is there are people who I work with everyday who can neither care for or afford the children they do have, yet they continue to get pregnant. Tell me why if you already have children with active CPS cases would it be a good idea to have another?? I don't get it. Rant over.

  • At least once a day there are also questions posted about how to conceive easier/faster... I try to educate by telling them to chart BBT, check cervix position/mucous, use OPKs, start taking prenatal vitamins and be healthy... Then there are the people who say, "let God handle it'd or "it'll happen when its meant to happen"... Or my favorite from yesterday, "order Clomid online." Yeah, because buying pills online is a great idea, let alone taking Clomid without proper monitoring by a professional.

  • Although, it is possible to menstruate without ovulation, I never thought about how exactly that works in the opposite direction? Can a woman ovulate and not menstruate? In my mind I'm thinking if the hormones are right for ovulation, but not right for thickening of the uterine lining, in reality, there would be nothing to 'have a period' with..but, then that would also mean nothing for an embryo to implant into....

I realize that for the hormones for ovulation to be right (and not for lining thickening), it would be like a freak of nature occurrence, right?

God gave me a double portion for my inheritance with my little Mighty men :) 9/19/10 Baby A born at 1:47 am 6lbs 14oz, 20.5inches long. Baby B born at 3:20 am 6lbs 6oz, 19.5inches long. My double blessing!:)

  • I'm not in medical field but just from having kids I know you can still get pregnant while breast feeding and you don't have to have your period. I would assume that this would be the ovulation without actually shedding a lining?!
My hospital actually makes you sign something stating bfing is NOT birth control when you have to sign for shaken baby syndrome waiver and watch the video. They stress that even before you return to your cycle you are still fertile!
