Pregnant after 35

Intro

Hi all - I'm very early in my pregnancy with my second and am going to turn 35 in November. I know that i'm on the 'young' side of AMA but, being an idiot, i googled a lot of things on AMA and scared the bejeesus out of myself. So, i'm taking a deep breath, joining this board to get some much needed perspective and learn about testing options as i go through this pregnancy. I have no idea if my OB will treat this pregnancy differently than my last but i have my first appointment July 29th and will find out more there.

I'm at least a general 'boards veteran' and will lurk and sit hard on myself not to ask really stupid questions. Thanks for letting me play!

  • Welcome, the ladies here are very supportive. Your OB may or may not make a big deal of the AMA, but whether or not you are treated differently just keep in mind that even though the risks go up most women 35 plus have healthy pregnancies. So don't go scaring yourself with the what ifs!

  • P.S. for some perspective, I am 40 and almost 21 weeks...my baby is healthy and doing great!
