Sleep issues

Any one else have a kid up super early? Shane used to get up at like 7 or so every day. The. We moved and he had a bad ear infection and now he's usually screaming by like 530. If we can get him to take a late short nap, and go to bed at like 830 he sleeps later the next day. But it never sticks because something happens. The baby sitter runs errands with him so he naps like shiit etc, so he falls asleep early again that night. I'm so fed up. I'm the only one getting up, so I'm the only one who it bothers. And a fussy baby at 530am is no fun. Neither am I at 530am.

Re: Sleep issues

  • I'd talk to your sitter about making lo's schedule a priority and working her errands around it. If you know lo sleeps better with naps then try to enforce that. My DS went through a 5am waking too but is now back to 6. I would love a 7 wake up but it's better than 5!

    This.

DS has been an early riser since day one, but DH & I are as well. DH's alarm goes off at 4:45am and mine at 5:30am, so he usually wakes up around 5am. The thing that's always baffled me is, he's still sleepy. I'll bring him to bed with me and he used to go back to sleep for a while longer. He's started refusing to do that but will lay there with me, drifting in and out of sleep, so he's obviously still sleepy. He's back asleep by 7:30ish for another hour.
