My pediatriatian said at our 7 month checkup that we should be feeding more solids than we had been.
We were doing 2 meals a day and about 23 tablespoons plus bottles, our LOs were eating between 8001000ml a day, which the pediatrician said was too much, she said about 700800 ml/day, if I remember correctly.
Fast forward a month and now my LOs are taking 1 jar or 8 tablespoons per meal with 2 tablespoons of cereal mixed in. However, my concern is that one of my LOs is loving solids and is eating more and more with each meal but is now barely getting over 600ml/day is this too low? Should I be changing anything I am doing? Thanks.
Re: 8 month amount of formula vs solids
My LO has about 24-27 OZ of formula a day - most days its 24 OZ - this is just how it times out...we feed solids about an 1-1.5 hours after the bottle. Some days she drinks more, other days less - it really just depends but we follow her queues.
Same for us. We feed him 3 times a day and trying to do more food as opposed to purees now too, but if isn't into eating food that day I don't worry so long as he drinks his 4-5 bottles a day.
