So I have our calendar for DE IVF #2 (still can't believe the first didn't work, but glad to have a chance at a 2nd try) and I am trying to take a different approach to this cycle, like telling less people, going to stay more focused on staying physically active etc...
So what changes did you make when you started your next cycles? Not just Donor cycles, any cycles after your failed 1st cycle....
That and I am trying to not be nervous but it's hard when you have been on the wrong side of the odds with these donor cycles.
April 2013 DE IVF= BFN

Re: Could use a pep talk....
I haven't changed anything really, other than I'm trying to just stay neutral. I didn't tell anyone until after I had the BFP last time, but this time I let my Mom know. I just wanted to have someone I could trust to call when I needed to, other than DH who is super super psyched about this one.
Other than that, I went to a dietician and made sure I had my diet plan and nutrition goals lined up an in order. I had an ectopic and had to to have the methotrexate injection, I wanted to be sure that I could reload the Folic Acid that was depleted and just get my energy back. She put me on a plan to regulate my blood sugar, and decrease inflammation. I felt really great up to the FET on Tuesday.
I told her I was planning FET the first week of July so she gave me a plan post transfer, has been hard to follow because I am having to have 3 egg breakfasts, snack, big protein lunch with salad and veg, protein shake in the afternoon and more protein for supper. I am stuffed, feel physically ill eating that much egg (I hate eggs) and really can't wait until I see her again for the next phase (which is hopefully first trimester nutrition plan).
Oh and I took 3 weeks off for transfer and 2WW. Just staying calm cool and collected.
Do what feels good for you.
Good Luck
P

I was like you Lacy, nervous to give in and I did, and glad I did! But it is still scary. I think our cycles are pretty close? I start med in August with a possible transfer 9/2. How did you like the acupuncture? I am thinking of trying just to help feel more "zen" hence telling only a select few people this time.

We haven't officially started FET #2, but I'm going to be doing some things differently too.
1 - I'm going to be realistic in realizing a BFP doesn't always mean a take home baby. I learned that the hard way the first time.
2 - I'm not telling as many people either.
3 - I'm not letting the medication protocol rule my life. If I want to go somewhere, I feel confident enough to bring the meds with me and do them in the bathroom if necessary.
4 - I'm going to really try to relax more since I know the ropes now. Easier said than done!
Good luck!

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

Hey Stinkerbell,
I know how hard it is to keep falling on the wrong side of the odds and it's really hard to get back up. I have tried everything, exercising, diet, acupuncture...you name it I've probably tried it.
I have been keeping my mind off our upcoming cycle by running and exercising a lot. I've been eating well, trying to relax, but most importantly I will be sure to take very good care of myself when our cycle begins. It's truly the little things for me. Going for a walk on the beach, getting a coffee from starbucks, cooking recipes from Pinterest, taking a relaxing bath with aromatherapy salts...
Basically, I try to have something to look forward to every day. I spoil myself and I don't feel guilty about it. Having something to look forward to will help you get through this.

Lady...Thanks so much!
Km....I've been meaning to PM about your running :-) I am supper slow! But I run and actually even have some races on the books because last cycle I skipped registering for races "Just in case" and had nothing to fall back on, so this time around I even have one on the books right before transfer! wasn't planed that way jut what may happen. lol. I refuse to sit around and not move forward with life this time! So if I end up not able to run them, then so be it, but rather know I can if I want to.

sorry for the late response...TB is still not working on my phone.
ummm...you run way longer and way faster than me!! I have been running for about 3 years now (on and off because of IF treatments). I'm really slow and I don't run far, but I love it-
I agree. I am going to continue to keep registering for races until my transfer date. It keeps me motivated and I am really sick of living my life around IF. I feel like we put so many things on hold because of it and I refuse to give up running until I have a good reason to...

Just wanted to send big (((HUGS))) your way Stinkerbell!
I'm feeling similarly nervous about my second donor cycle (although mine will be FET, not fresh)...regardless, I'm hoping the second time is a charm for both of us....hang in there!!
Oh and this time around, I'll be using my relaxation tapes (Circle + Bloom) from the start of the cycle. Last time I bought the tapes just before transfer, so I didn't really have a chance to take full advantage of them.
Me: AMA, DOR, undetectable AMH, carrier of SMA, MTHFR homozygous C677T, high cytokines, low IGg B cells, Factor XIII V34l mutation, High Anti-Phosphatidylethanolmine, borderline hypothyroid and mildly insulin resistant.
MH: No known issues, aside from MTHFR.
Recommendations from RI: LIT, Humira, IVIG, Lovenox, Baby Aspirin, Folic Acid, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.
Currently taking: Pre-Natal vitamins, Foltanx, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.
When cycling also taking: Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, Humira and IVIG.
TTC since 7/11/09..with medical intervention starting in 2010, including 4 failed IVF's and 6 failed IUI's...only "success" was a chemical pregnancy in 11/2012 (credited to use of DE).
