Running out

Does anyone else feel they run out of breast milk? I nursed all day with a bottle around 11. Now 12 hours later Im feeding bottles untill they are happy which for one was almosr 6 oz. He usually maxes out at 4. I know I cant run out but can I really low? Anyone else?

    Your babies can eat all the foremilk that is currently stored in your breast, at which point it begins producing hindmilk. My understanding is that you can empty your ducts, but your breasts never stop producing milk, so you can't "run out" in that sense. :)

    Just keep nursing! Make sure you are getting enough to eat and plenty of fluids. You need more calories while breast feeding than you do whole pregnant. Times two with twins. If the babies are nursing a lot that is great, they need to increase your supply. It should only take a couple days. And if you supplement with formula, pump so that your breasts are still being stimulated. Every ounce of formula you give your babies is an ounce that your breasts aren't being demanded to make.
