Re: XP: Tips for flying wanted
Not sure I understand the reasoning for getting an inexpensive carseat when you get there. Is there even such a thing, and do you really want to put your baby in it? We just take the stroller/carseat right up to the gate. If the flight isn't full, you can put the carseat on the plane with you. If it is, you can check it at the gate and pick it back up at the gate when you arrive. We've done this for 3 trips, and I wear him when we have to check the carseat.
When you book "infant in arms" they tend to put you in the back of the plane. Really not a big deal and I think the white noise from the engines helps. If you nurse, try to schedule it around take off. If not, just have your bottles ready. There's no issues at security with baby's food.
A 3 week trip means you're probably already planning on checking a bag. I'd pack everything possible in the checked bag(s) and only bring what you need for the flight in the diaper bag on the plane (change of clothes for baby, extra shirt for you, snacks, quiet toys, etc...). Less hassle in the airport.
thanks for your replies-the Cosco Scenera is inexpensive when compared to the Chicco car seat we have in our car.
It's received good ratings but yep it is waay cheaper than our Chicco but cost doesn't equal quality as we know.
