We are trying to plan a quick overnight trip next month. DD will be 6 months and we also have a 5 year old. DH seems to think we have to have a 2 room suite so the baby can sleep I.,another room otherwise we will all be miserable. I agree it would be nice but it's also way more expensive.
I would think we can reserve a crib and just be crowded on one room.
Anyone done an overnight in a hotel with LO? What's your experience?

Re: staying in hotel with LO
We are staying with enough people right now. We are currently in Italy with 21 people.
I have a room with attached room. I am sharing a room with my five, but my fifteen year old niece and her best friend are in an a adjoined room. We are all on one floor. I take the baby monitor with me, and can visit them, but usually, like right now am in the adjoining room visiting with the two fifteen year old girls and bumping!!
We just returned from an out of town trip. For the two nights we were gone LO slept on a pnp in the same room as us. We just turned off the overhead light and used the lamps for what we wanted to do. LO slept fine with his normal wake up a 4ish. We recently transitioned LO to a crib in his own room so to us it was no different than it was before we transitioned him.
I think if you had LO in the room with you from birth, LO's presence would not bother any of you. If on the other hand LO has always been in a different room, to share a room with LO might disturb one or more of you.

We went to Austin overnight and DD woke up only once. I tried keeping her naps as usual, bathed with her in the tub after the swimming pool and she slept fine. I did request a crib and brought a sheet with me, I found the mattress pad cushion-less so I used a big blanket to wrap around the mattress pad and covered it with the sheet to give it more mattress feel.
We are traveling next weekend with our two kids, 2yrs and 5mos, and we opted for a 1 bedroom suite. This is more so for our toddler because she won't be able to sleep in the room if we are still awake. I'm not worried about the baby....he can pretty much sleep anywhere and through anything. We will keep the baby with us in the bedroom and the toddler in the living area.
