Sorry for the morbid topic...

 

For those of you who have gotten wills written, how did you go about it? My sister used her Godfather, a lawyer, and he didn't charge her.  She told me to go to him but I feel awkward, like we know obviously they didn't pay, so I hope he doesn't think we want a freebee.  If you paid a lawyer, do you remember around how much? Thanks!

    Sorry I don't know cost, but we do have a will. We do not own a home, so we did a very basic will ourselves that details our info for who would have care of our son. Now, when we own a home, etc, we will be doing a more formal will. My best friend has a will also, and has it to the extent of who will have the children and how much visiting time the IL's have. Interesting idea. However, if I'm dead, I am leaving that up to my sister and her husband, who would have DS. I assume that they would make the best decisions possible in that sort of scenario.

    For just a very basic, simple will... shouldn't cost more than about 750 I would think.
