VBAC 12 months post CS?

jgnothjgnoth member

Hey ladies,

I had my daughter via csection in January of this year ( after dilating to 9cm my contractions slowed, she was looking up and her heart rate climbed and I spiked a low grade temp) all of those reasons combined is why I had a cs. Well I am now 12 weeks pregnant and due January of 2014. Anyone know of anyone ever having a vbac this close to a cs?? Thanks, in advance, for any replies

Re: VBAC 12 months post CS?

  • My OB cringed when she found out I'd only be 18 months between deliveries provided that I'd make my EDD. In her practice, 18 months was the bare minimum to be considered for a Trail of Labor.

I wish you luck, a HnH 9 months, and a safe delivery; but it's likely going to be a RCS. Sorry.

"What are you having?" "Well the radiologist says its a healthy little human baby. I'm a little disappointed, because I really wanted a puppy." LOL

  • I hate to say it, but all I have heard is 18 months for VBAC between deliveries. I hope I'm wrong, but my last midwife even said 24 months, so I switched and I am trying to VBAC at 18 months exactly. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. Look into it, but if you can't just know that everything happens in the time it is supposed to for a reason : )
  • I was told 18 months as well, however I know I've heard stories of VBACs that were closer together. Different providers all seem to have their own guidelines.

  • I will be 15 months post c/s and my doctor was fine with a trial of labor. Ask around and see if there is a provider in your area who will allow you to try. Check with your local ican chapter too, maybe they can recommend a provider. Good luck!
