PT- pee pee accidents all of a sudden

Little man is 2 1/2, We've only been trained about 2 months for #1...#2 is a COMPLETE MESS so im taking a break from that and not stressing either of us at this point.

Anyway we totally followed his lead when he started showing interest and he got it right away w/ very few accidents to start, now all of a sudden hes having accidents (just a few but enough that im wondering whats up). Im sure a lot has to do with the fact thats its hot and im pumping him with liquids but even when he hasn't had a lot its happening. Any ideas or suggestions? I just tell him its ok you had an accident, i dont want to yell or punish at him at all but i want him to understand whats going on so how can i express that? I never worried before now I just get concerned when we are out and about!

I know hes still on the younger side but i just dont want him to regress w/ this, we had a good thing going ha!

    I don't think he's "on the younger side".

    Is he playing and not wanting to stop to go potty? Some days DS will have 3-4 accidents because he's too busy having fun. We stay conscious of how long its been since he peed and ask if he needs to go-- if it's been a while, I'll make him stop what he's doing and go even if he tells me "no!"-- only once has he not peed once he got to the toilet.

    I usually say "oh, no, did you have an accident and get your underwear wet? You know, you can come back to your toys after you go potty. Now you're all wet and we need to go clean you up and get you changed"

    It's pretty common for kids to have successes and regressions for the first six months of being PTed. Just keep up the encouragement.

    yes i guess i just started wondering b/c we never had to ask him before now i feel like thats all i do haha

    Yep, I think especially around 2.5-3 yo is hard because they start getting so stubborn and want to be so independent. DD2 will be 3 yo next week and has been potty trained for about 9 months. I still have to force (aka bribe) her to go potty sometimes. She'll be sitting on the potty peeing while she tells me that she doesn't have to go. I keep telling her that she might not want to go, but she does have to. ;-)

    My son is also 2 1/2. I bribe him with apps on my phone. It works and keeps him on the potty long enough to take care of business
