I had my A/S four weeks ago, at which point the doctor just looked at the report briefly and said "everything looked fine". I was back there again today so I snuck a peek at the report in my file, and saw that it said I have a low-lying placenta. From what I can see online, this generally should move up and shouldn't be a problem, but most sources say the doctor should schedule another ultrasound for later on to check if the placenta has indeed moved. He hasn't said anything about scheduling another ultrasound at all, so I'm wondering if I should ask about this or just let it be. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
Re: low-lying placenta
This. I'd ask about it at your next appt. If you are not comfortable with them, you could get a second opinion too.

I will say that maybe the doctor didn't mention anything because it is borderline low lying. I think to be considered low lying it has to be 2.1 cm or less from your cervix and maybe yours is 2cm or something. That being said, I still think it should have been mentioned to you. Good luck!
I have one as well. Mine is not actually over the cervix, but near it. When I said to my ob that in my reading it seemed like 90 percent of these resolve, he said it is more like 99 percent. He said that they are so likely to resolve that some experts say you don't need a follow-up scan, although he will get one on me at 32 weeks just to be sure. But the uterus basically blows up like a balloon during pregnancy, so as it stretches upward, the placenta tends to move with it. He said that medical guidelines to not suggest any restrictions, so I have come off pelvic rest (I was on it earlier in pregnancy for another complication) and am going to the gym regularly now as well.
The recommendations may be completely different for women for whom the placenta actually overlies the cervix to some degree.
