Intro

Hello! I've been lurking a bit, but I guess I should introduce myself. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with di/di twins. I have two older boys ages 8 and 5, but this twin thing is very new to me! I am naturally a huge worrier and am scared to death of this pregnancy. Everyone I know IRL that has been pregnant with twins have all had issues. From bed rest for months to premature labor where they have lost both babies or one or maybe they both made it, but spent months in the nicu. I'm not too scared of bedrest, but terrified of premature labor. There has to be some good stories out there, so I'd love to hear some if anyone is willing to share theirs! Thanks!

Re: Intro

  • There is hope! I had a very complication free twin pregnancy! I made it all the way to 38 weeks with my b/g twins! No issues whatsoever! They were 6 and 7 lbs at birth and I was able to deliver them both vaginally within 15 minutes of the time I started pushing!

I, too, worried that so many things can go wrong! But there is definitely a possibility for everything to be just fine! Good luck to you!!

  • Welcome and congrats! I just wanted to give you some encouraging words and say that it's true many things can and do go wrong, but many many many of them come out perfectly. Just know that things will come out just fine, but be prepared for the bedrest and NUCU. Maybe you'll need neither! Gl!!

  • Welcome! Try to relax and take care of yourself! I had 2 complication-free twin pregnancies which resulted in my now 4.5 year old boys and 6 month old girls. Boys born at 35w1day and girls born at 35w6days. You can do it mama! Congrats!

  • I am currently 35w6d pregnant with di/di twins and although we have had some false alarms nothing major has really happened. I have a great team of Dr's that are very cautious so I've spent the past 48 hours in the hospital monitoring for preeclampsia seems I have a mild case. No worries tho I feel pretty good and so do the twins that are already 6lbs and 7.5lbs seems I grow big babies lol.
  • Welcome and congrats!! Just take care of yourself and your babies! That's all you can do! Best of luck to you!!

  • Congratulations and welcome!

I had an uneventful pregnancy with my mo/di boys. No issues, no PTL. I was induced at 37w because baby B was small and my BP was beginning to creep up. Boys born at 37w 1d, no NICU time. They were small but healthy.

I'll tell you what my MFM told me at my first appointment. "I'm sure you've heard about all of the bad things that can happen. But chances are everything will be fine, so let's not get excited until there's something to get excited about."

  • Thanks everyone! It's so nice to have some reassurance! I tend to work myself up everytime I hear a negative story.
