I have always wanted to adopt since I could remember, and I just recently had a baby girl who is now 3 months old, which has really got me thinking about the adoption process.
I have been lurking at some comments and notice that it takes years sometimes before everything is cleared and set n stone.
I don't know whether we want to do it domestically or internationally at this point, but I do know we want to adopt in the 3 to 7 year old range.
I have heard that you don't want to mess with pecking order with kids ages, so I assume we won't be adopting for many more years to come, since I have a 3 month old and plan on getting pregnant one more time before adopting.
How many years before we plan on adopting should we start the process? Why did you chose domestic or international? Advice?
TIA!

If you pursue domestic adoption, it's hard to pinpoint a timeline. Your home study could take weeks or months. You could be matched in weeks or years. It will depend on a lot of factors and how you go about it.
International wait times can also vary, and can change over time. You can always contact an agency and get ballpark numbers.
FWIW, our domestic adoption took 10 months
