DS said Dada today. I am so proud of him. I was ecstatic and could not wait to show DH the recording, DS is napping otherwise I would have had him say it directly to him, well if he would have. I showed DH and he said, "that's cool, I'm tired, going to bed, night." He works third shift but come on. Way to rain on my parade!
Re: DS said his first word today!
Ugh, men. Teeth are exciting!
I don't know. I would love to hear from other mamas. It is possible. He has done most things early. I want to say the range is 8 months to a year but I am not positive.
I agree with this. K has been babbling Dada for weeks. It has no connection to DH. It is a way for her to use her voice, which she LOVES to do.
What does KWIM stand for? Didn't see it in the glossary. He has been babbling syllables for a little while like dadadadadada and babababababababa but this morning DH brought him into the room and put him on the bed with me turn around and said dada. Since then he has been saying it but not necassarily at him because DH is sleeping right now but DS is just doing dada instead of dadadadada today.
So, it could be a coincidence but it sure made my day even if it is.
He could know what it means! Or if he doesn't, then he may soon. My DS has been saying Mama for about a month, but for the past week or so, I think it's been directed at me. When he wakes up for the first time in the morning, he says "Mama! Mamaaaaaa!" DH heard it today and couldn't believe how much it sounded like he was calling me. I also have picked him up a couple of times and he has said Mama...just once, and very clearly. He also starts saying it when I come home for lunch or come home for the day from work.
We have been working on saying it since he was about 4 months old. I would take his hand and put it on my face and say Mama. DH does the same thing with Dada.
Same here! DD has been saying DADA for a month now. But she says it about everything and everyone, so it doesn't count for me as her first word. I say MAMA when she says dada. I'm pretty sure daddy will be her first word. So unfair! Most kids say daddy first.
