baby is pinching

my baby has the habit of pinching while she is breast feeding.  Initially it was not a big deal cus she was soft but now she is so strong it hurts and it has left bruises anyone else have this problem and how to stop it

    DS has been griping my boob like a hamburger and pinching it since day one pretty much. Nothing has worked for me. If I can get pass the initial pinch and about a minute it generally goes numb where he is pinching until he releases.

    My DD did this too.  She grabs a chunk of my boob, digs her nails in then pulls upward....very painful!  I just started holding her hand and stroking her fingers.  The pinching only lasted about a week, maybe a bit longer.  Now she's moved on to pulling at my shirt and bra straps :).

    DD made me bleed a little from pinching so hard. I just stopped her feeding every time and waited a minute before offering again sort of like the advice I've seen for biting,

    Thanks for the advice ladies.  People have started asking about the bruises so I have to do something about.  I do not think that she does it to hurt me, but more so to soothe herself.  Glad I am not the only one who has a baby who is doing this.
