Hey girls,
So today I went to the gym for the first time in a long time and did some sweet aquasize moves in the pool. Thought I got a pretty good workout in, proud of myself for actually going, and hey was pretty hungry too. Might as well hit up the grocery store for something to eat after my nice workout right? Well it turns out my idea of a post workout snack is chocolate and ice cream. I also tend to eat pretty junky food when watching biggest loser. Why do I even think this is a good idea? Anyone else do this? What kinds of things do you do that self sabotage?
Re: GTKY - Self Sabotage?
Swimming five laps in a regular backyard pool totally counts as a work out right? No? Oh well, junk food for everyone anyways lol
Right now though, I'm sabotaging myself by bumping instead of getting my daily 1,600 words in for Nano. grrrr...

Care to elaborate? I am genuinely curious as to what some healthier options would be. What do you eat to satisfy yourself after working out?

Hey but at least you are working out right? Better to do that than not and still eat junk food.

Do you crave junk food after you work out?
i normally do a protein shake and that makes me full for hours. I have recipes to make them taste like sweets...my favorites are butterfinger, mint chocolate chip ice cream and frappe mocha.
Also, once you cut out processed sugar, you won't crave it anymore, your taste buds change and real, whole foods become desirable.
That is what I hear, I guess it is just getting to that point that is the struggle for me. I also have some stomach issues that cause me to feel hungrier than I am so I am always gravitating to heavier things to make me feel fuller.

Yeah it's kind of a vicious circle I suppose :P

Definitely sucks when you are in the cycle. The one thing that helps me when I am craving junk and I'm just about to eat it...I tell myself "you are going to enjoy that for only 1 or 2 minutes, it's not worth it."
When the weather is nice, my husband and I take walks with snacks or some type of food. When we ran out of the food, we often take the short cut home.
