Our lil girl just started rolling from her back to her stomach, which I great but the last few nights she's woken us u bc she's on her stomach and doesn't want to be there! Anyone else experience this? How long does this last?
I'm just waiting for it... LO has started rolling onto her side. She sleeps just fine on her side, but so far tummy time hasn't been so great, so I know she's probably going to dislike it when it happens at night!
DD just went through this. DD would roll from her back to her stomach in her crib then "forget" in the middle of the night how to roll back over. It went on for about three weeks and just recently stopped. However, she still occasionally gets mad on her play mat when she gets on her tummy and can't get her arm in the right place to roll back over.
LO has been rolling from back to belly for about 3 weeks now but she just started rolling at night in her crib. Sometimes it bothers her and sometimes it doesnt. She seems to enjoy sleeping on her tummy and her side too, but sometimes i hear her whining in the middle of the night because she can't flip back over sp I go in and put her on her back again. I think it depends how tired she is but hopefully shell be able to go from back to belly and back again seamlessly soon (meaning without mommy intervention!!)
I am going through this now. It is TORTURE bc she was a great sleeper. I posted just below how baby rolling over is also equaling to her being so fussy. I have read that new skills make baby in a overdrive situation and can make them cry more etc for a few days.
Anyhow I would not put a blanket or any other object in crib especially bc my baby is totally into grabbing and putting things in her mouth and over her face.
Babies only learn to roll one way first and it can be months before they learn to roll from belly to back. My LO is ok sleeping on her belly until she tries to reposition herself at night and can't get comfy = waking up a lot more. I pray this doesn't last long. I am tired.
Re: Rolling over
We went through this. Every baby is different, but it lasted about 2 weeks for us.
Good luck!
