Ct Scan on LO

Has anyone had their LO go through a ct scan?  They are recommending one on Jacob's skull due to him jumping in head size instead of following a curve.  He is currently off the normal WHO chart when the rest of his measurements are in the 50% range following a curve. He is going into his helmet for plageocephly (sp?) but now they want to scan for hydrocephalus.

This was all discussed by phone today with the children's hospital but the doctor got called away so I couldn't ask many questions.  We have an appointment next week so I thought I would ask for experiences before I turned to doctor google cause we all know how accurate doctor google is.

    No experience with a CT scan for LO, but we had a scare with head size at the 6 mo appointment. At the 4 mo, DS1 was at 90th percentile and was off the chart at 6 mo. He was at the 95th percentile at the 9 mo visit. His height is currently at the 5th and his weight is at the 25th.

    At the 6 mo visit, the pedi said she wanted to watch it, as it can be a sign of other issues. However, she told us not to panic because he was meeting all milestones ahead or at adjusted age. I also spoke with my MIL and SIL who noted that several other children in DH's family have presented with similar head circumferences.

    I know it is super scary and Dr. Google nearly scared the pants off of me!! I'm sending lots of positive vibes for a perfect scan!

    ETA: DS1 also had plagiocephaly due to torticollis. I have to believe his head size made things a bit worse, as poor guy really struggled through those exercises.

    Thanks!  At birth they thought he was going to be so much larger than his brother based on head circumference but turns out he was smaller.  On his adjusted chart his head has always been 75% plus but is now jumping and is off the who chart considerably.  He was born at 5lbs 5oz and at just over 5 months is 18.5lbs so he is a really big boy.  

    He isn't showing any of the symptoms such as vomiting, not talking, screaming inconsolably.  He is a happy boy who now eats well (that we are treating reflux), barely cries, and talks your ears off.  Due to that I have not made it to the panic moment and my fingers are crossed he just has a really big head he hasn't grown into you.
