My son has been getting speech therapy through EI for the last 9 months. He is turning three this week so this will be his last session. Any ideas for thank you gifts? There are two of them...one is in her 30's and one 40's.
Gift cards for either Starbucks, Panera or something local.
You could also get them something that your DS can record a thank you message on like a christmas ornament, mug or even just a recordable card with a nice long note from you.
I'm an SLP with EI and two of the sweetest gifts I ever got included a picture of one of my guys with a really heartfelt note from mom thanking me for believing in her son and pushing so hard for him, and a Starbucks gift card from a family whose little boy was so excited one day about making me a pretend "marshmallow coffee." The card encouraged me to enjoy a "real marshmallow coffee." It was adorable! Personally, having some sort of validation that the child enjoyed the time as much as I did is such a great gift, no matter how it is presented.
For DS' EI therapists, we wrote a personal letter to each of them and gave them giftcards to a coffee shop. Now that he is in preschool, we make a donation to his classroom at Christmas and at the end of the school year (this year we gave a gift card to Target for Christmas and some dress-up costumes at the end of the year) along with a small gift card to Starbucks.
