"My Look-Like-Me Mommy" book... reviews?

Anybody have a review of this book? I love the idea of it, but don't want to spend $10 if it isn't as good as I'm hoping.

  • I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I bought this a few months ago and I haven't read it yet : )

But I will make a point to read it today or tomorrow and report back!

  • I saw it--it seemed cute!

I have the book "All Bears Need Love" on our baby registry because it seemed super cute, too! :)

I'm a dance studio owner, writer, cat mommy, and adventuress who is married to the man of her dreams. My husband and I have had a long-time dream to adopt and it's happening in a way that we didn't quite anticipate. But, like any move of God, it's turning out way better than we expected. We'd love for you to follow our story at www.kirstenkline.com!
  • I've read this one. It's cute but not my favorite. I like Little Miss Spider and a Mother for Choco better. But, They are all great books for exploring the differences adoption brings to our lives.

  • Thanks, guys! I'll probably still take a look at it. :)

  • Ok I finally read it :) It's super short so it's sort of sad it took me this long to read it!

I think it's cute, it's about mama hippo and her zebra son and they go shopping and meet a variety of moms and kids that look like each other and that confuses the son. So he finally asks why his mom doesn't look like him and she answers that parents and children don't always look like each other and she chose him to be her son because she wanted to be his mom. She says that even though they don't match on the outside, they match on the inside.

I think it's cute, maybe doesn't express things perfectly, but I think it's very appropriate for a young kiddo and especially appropriate for interracial families.

And that is the end of my book report :)
