Re: ***Third-Party-Repro Check-In!***

  •  What is new in your process?

We have a surrogate! EEP! I can't tell you how excited I am. :) She just got medically approved by our doctor  yesterday and now we are moving forward with the rest of the process. Up next: infectious disease testing for me, DH, our carrier, and her SO. Slowly but surely things are starting to look up for us.

    - QOTW:  If you could live someplace else than where you do, where would you live and why?

I would like to live in either Alaska or the East Coast (Maine). I love the cold weather and I love doing things outdoors, like hiking. Plus, both of those areas seem beautiful.

    TTC since April 2010
    BFP #1 – March 2011, missed m/c April 2011
    BFP #2 – October 2011, m/c November 2011
Surprise BFP #3 – December 2011, diagnosed as cornual, terminated January 2012
    BFP #4 – June 2012, m/c July 2012
Diagnosed with bicornuate ute and MTHR gene mutation
    BFP #5 – October 2012, missed m/c November 2012
    BFP #6 – January 2013, m/c March 2013
No longer TTC. Diagnosis: Hostile ute. Heartbroken and bitter. Pursuing surrogacy.
June 2013 - Carrier found! Could this really happen?!

  • - What is new in your process?

Nothing. And it royally sucks! The donor's lab lost her consent-to-ship-embryos form that she had signed AND notarized, and they aren't even returning her calls now that she submitted a second one. Totally incompetent. I'm *this* close to blowing a gasket.

    - QOTW:

I grew up in Utah, and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 10 years after that. DH and I made the conscious decision to quit our jobs and pack up to move to Austin and it was the best decision we've made. We love it here and it's definitely "home." I can't even think about moving elsewhere.

  • What's new in your process? After an email and phone call to clinic they finally got back to me. I'm 3rd on the list and I should be happy but I'm not. They are having a bit of a "dry" spell so it still looks like it will be further delayed till even Sept now.  It's been 9 months already and I'm getting anxious. I know it's out of my control. My hangup lately is my age as I always tend to whine about. I really didn't want to be 46 with a baby. I wish I could let that go. Sorry I whine so much :(

QOTW: Hmm...this is hard or maybe my brain can't think right now! I've always lived in PA but would of loved to lived elsewhere for a bit. Vancouver sounds nice because you have the city but also the mountains. I also would love to live in a quaint little town near the water or some layed back town...lol I'm all over the place!!

Sammer that is so exciting!! Liz4Paws...hang in there girl :(

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

2MamazInSeattle, Please add me to the check in :)

    - What is new in your process?

Intro:  DH and I have been ttc since 2008.  In 2009 I was dx with DOR, I was 29 yr old. I went through 3.2 IVFs, we had a lot of BFNs and one CP.  A few months ago we went to CCRM for testing and one last Hail Mary IVF with my OEs.  CC.RM discovered DH had a balanced translocation of chromosomes, in addition to my extremely poor AFC of 2.  We have decided to forgo anymore IVFs with my OE and we are moving forward with DE w/ pgd.

We have decided to cycle at SD.FC for DE.  I have found a few donors who I really like, one that I really like!  We will be setting up our phone consult in a few weeks.  We hope to cycle in Oct. or Nov. of this year.

    - QOTW:  If you could live someplace else than where you do, where would you live and why?

I like where I live, but I would prefer somewhere less conservative.  If we were to move it would need to be somewhere where I have fairly easy access to the mountains to go snowboarding in the winter, hiking and boating in the summer, Maybe No. Ca, Tahoe perhaps, possibly even Co.  Although DH would like to move to a warmer climate near an ocean, So. Ca or FL.

  • We got our calendar for DE IVF#2 late last week, so looks like I start meds in mid August and transfer 9/2. I am super nervous because we did frozen DE last time, so no worries about how the donor is doing etc...that and it is a shared cycle so that also includes how is the other recipient responding etc... so going to try and just stay calm once we start.

We visited Hawaii last year and I would up and move there so fast! lol. I know we would love to live somewhere near the beach one day. We are in CA so we can easily go to beaches to mountains with snow, so in the end I doubt we would move away from CA.

    (((HUGS))) Liz! and Congrats Sammers!!

    April 2013 DE IVF= BFN

September 2013 DE IVF (Fingers Crossed) = BFFFN! again...

October 2013 FET of our last 2 = Beta Hellzz for 6-7 Weeks. M/C

I grew up in Ogden. But I have most of my family still out in Bountiful, Kearns, Lehi, and Orem. In fact, my cousin just won Miss Utah and will represent your state in the Miss America pagent! LOL Are you in SLC? I agree it's WAY conservative. I so like some degree of that (family values and a solid foundation) but I realize that growing up there was just so one-noted. FWIW, I love Austin. I has a rich arts/music scene, lots of free-thinking, but no one shoves their ideals down their throat. We bought a house in the suburbs so it reminds me of the stability of growing up, but with opportunities to be exposed to other religions, people, and ways of thinking.

  • Hi everyone!

Nothing new since my last update the end of June. I asked my RE to test me for everything that could possibly be a problem with keeping a pregnancy (really don't want to try for 5 years to get pregnant and then find something else out) so I'm going to have to wait for those results before starting the next steps. Debating about doing the IUI first or Natural Study IVF (both with DS) in August, only because I am a teacher, and it would be better financially to do the study first. Either way I am kinda glad we didn't do anything this cycle. We completely landscaped the backyard and poor husband hasn't been in the house in 2 weeks to rest. Hopefully he will have time soon to pick out DS.

What's new in the process?  No drugs for the IUI or Natural Study. Hoping that is the trick.

QOTW: So many places. Either Point Pleasant Beach, NJ- closer to the shore and a quaint little town. Or probably someplace in Wyoming- after being in NJ so long, I just want to experience someplace that isn't crazy populated. Dying to imagine going outside and hearing silence.

  • Using my update from the TTC thread on my LGBT board :) Work has been so busy, sorry for the late check-ins...

Great to see all the updates - and I'm sorry for the frustration Liz and Becky :( - and Stinkerbell, hang in there! Fresh is scarier but also better odds!

Good news first: Our FET is a total ?go? on July 18th, which is next Thursday, which has definitely illicited some serious ?code brown? moments for me! It felt so far away, now it?s in 9 days! Yikes. I still have 1 really nice bottle of champagne to get through before?down to split shot Americanos and plan to go full decaf next Monday. Estrogen check last Friday was great (I?m on patches now, plus Lupron) ? next check is this Friday + lining check u/s. All that going well, I?ll start my oh-so-fun progesterone on the 13th.

This has been a rough couple months. My hip and associated pelvis has been really painful, and I?ve been terrified to not be able to take Ibuprofen. I saw my PCP who said ?you realize how big this is to try again after what happened? How brave you are?? and I started to cry and realized this IS big, and it?s ok for it to be big. I think I wanted to shrug it off, figure all will go well this time ?but deep down I still have loads of fear which I think are very PGAL standard. J has been great, and I think we?ve just doing our best to trust the process, and believe it will work!

In bummer news, I got a positive on my bloodwork testing for clotting disorders. WTF. So now, it looks like I?ll be in for belly shots of medication that burns inside (wheee!) every day of my pregnancy. While this could bring me down, I feel like I?m already to the point of saying ?alright. Fine then. What do I have to do?? which I guess made it easier to digest. So, I?ve got 2 MFM appointments ? I want 2 opinions ? and, I?m also shopping to see which outfit I like best to actually manage and deliver.

Sigh ? all that said, I?m actually feeling pretty good about things! Feels like I?ve earned my stripes and hopefully this baby will stick and be born, fullterm and healthy for both she and I! (Yes, I?m guessing it?s a girl).

QOTW: Easy easy easy one: NYC. J and I both utterly regret that we never lived in New York. While I could pretty much do my job from anywhere, J owns (as of August) 3 brick and mortar independent coffeeshops in Seattle. I meant to live here 2-3 years, go to SanFran for 2-3 years, and then live out my days in NYC. Alas, September 1st is my 20-year Seattle-versary. Whoops! It?s a great place to live, so not complaining! Just kinda wished I?d had the experience of some other places.

QOTW: After we visited Kauai 2 years ago (Has it really been than long ago!?!) DH and I  talked longingly of moving there. It's so beautiful and we loved the laid-back atmosphere. There is a beautiful neighborhood in Kalaheo that I love. Too bad I'm not filthy rich!! lol

  • Nothing much new. Starting to really notice the physical changes and realizing that i won't be able it keep it hidden for long. We have pretty much told everyone except me at work. My boss and most of the other managers know, but my team has no clue and it will very quickly become obvious. Kind of shocked that it is noticeable this soon with my first, but I will take it!

QOTD: Chicago. I absolutely love that city and DH and I still dream of moving there someday. After living in mostly rural areas most of my life, the activity and convenience of everything in a big city is so appealing. And never having to drive is my dream!!!

  • Hi Ladies!!

    - What is new in your process?

My donor starts stims today!!  Projected retrieval 7/19; projected transfer 7/24.  I so hope everything goes smoothly.

    - QOTW:  If you could live someplace else than where you do, where would you live and why?

Hmmm.  I live in Brooklyn which is pretty amazing on lots of levels.  I do fantasize about living full-time in the country, though.  Or in Paris.  Or in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica.  Or . . . let's just say I'm very adaptable and if I were super-rich I'd have about 19 second homes.   :)

  • Update: talked to the receptionist today... They are waiting in labs to come back so I should know more tomorrow on the donors progress. Im so anxious. They did say she has a lot if follicles. I just want to know details and its o hard being removed from all the IVF process part of appointments and stuff.
Qotw: I've always loved NYC and Drempt of opening a salon there and living in soho or Greenwich village! Lol so different from my small town living!!! :-SS

What is new in your process?

Hey all! I decided to join this board since my DW and I are using donor sperm. So here's my update: DW and I are getting ready to inseminate in September. I am working with fertility friend and an acupuncturist to get things in order and then we are looking to do at home, unmedicated AI for a few months. We do not plan on using any hormones or interventions at this time, if we have trouble. That's the plan, at least.

    - QOTW:  If you could live someplace else than where you do, where would you live and why?

I would love to live on the East Coast, Washington State or anywhere that recognizes my life as valuable and equal. DW would rather move to Alaska to get away from our families :)

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.
    • DW and I have been tracking, preparing, getting medical testing since January 2013.
    • First Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 08/02/13: BFN
    • Second Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 09/11/13, 09/13/13, 09/15/13: BFN
    • Third Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm: 10/13/13, 10/15/13, 10/17/13, 10/21/13: BFN
    • January 2014: Sonohysterogram shows excellent lining & tubes have no blockages
    • Fourth Cycle:  Monitored clomid cycle  w/ ICI's at home: 1/24/14 and 1/25/14. Ovulation verified:  BFN
    • Fifth Cycle: 02/2014 Femara 5mg with ovidrel trigger CD14: BFN
    • Taking a few months off to evaluate if we want to keep trying

    Hi ladies,

I'm late checking in, thanks to issues with all of the error messages I've been getting b/c of the Bump updates (argh!!)  :(

Anyway, I finally have some good news to report...I met with my RE earlier this week and my cyst has shrunk after a few weeks on BCP's.  Therefore, I'm scheduled to start Lupron on the 22nd and will have my baseline apt on Aug 5th, with FET around the end of Aug.  Woo-hoo!!  Excited to have a plan in place, after a very long break!

QOTW: I'm not sure if I would ever move permanently away from my area (NE), but DH and I have joked about moving to TX someday.  And if DH and I were rich, we would love to have a home away from home (or two) in some tropical places, as well as RI (one of our favorite vacation spots).

Me: AMA, DOR, undetectable AMH, carrier of SMA, MTHFR homozygous C677T, high cytokines, low IGg B cells, Factor XIII V34l mutation, High Anti-Phosphatidylethanolmine, borderline hypothyroid and mildly insulin resistant.

MH: No known issues, aside from MTHFR.

Recommendations from RI: LIT, Humira, IVIG, Lovenox, Baby Aspirin, Folic Acid, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.

Currently taking:  Pre-Natal vitamins, Foltanx, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.

When cycling also taking: Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, Humira and IVIG.

TTC since 7/11/09..with medical intervention starting in 2010, including 4 failed IVF's and 6 failed IUI's...only "success" was a chemical pregnancy in 11/2012 (credited to use of DE).

    FET #1 (11th cycle) on 8/23/13 = BFN.

FET #2 (12th cycle) Transfer of last two (day 6) donor egg blasts on 1/22/14 = BFP, EDD = 10/10/14 (please stick little BOY!)

    My favorite breed:
