what do to with sposies?

My MIL is throwing a baby shower this weekend for me and I am a little worried about getting sposies as gifts. I haven't told many people that I plan to CD so there is a decent chance that a few very well meaning friends of my mom or MIL will buy sposies. I got some NB sposies at my last shower (before I decided to CD) and that I plan to use those until LO's umbilical stump falls off. Once it falls off, I plan on using my CDs. I did add some CDs and CD accessories to my registries with the hope that people will get the hint that we aren't using sposies. I don't want to seem ungrateful for them buying something for LO but at the same time I don't want to see their money go to something I can't/won't use. Has anyone received spoises as gifts and if so, what did you do with any you didn't use?

I returned them to Walmart for store credit and bought what I actually wanted and needed. I kept a few - we do use sposies for travel sometimes.

Kept open ones used for diaper cakes, just in case, and giving away or donating as sizes are outgrown. I'd just return any you're given that aren't open.

I did this too. I kept the Seventh Generation ones for emergencies and ended up using all of them while I figured out CD. Now I only use sposies if I run out of dipes before I can get to do laundry so a few come in handy!

We decided to cloth diaper this time, but bought a box of disposables for vacations. I also have to use disposables at the gym daycare, so we use a a handful a week there.

We returned all the unopened packs for store credit and ended up giving away the ones from the diaper cake.

We brought all of them to the grocery store since we don't have a Walmart. They gave us a store gift card which I used to get a Visa card. Then I used the Visa card to order cloth diapers!

Some daycare will accept extra sposies to use when a child runs out of their own supply.

I know I have about half of a package that ds is close to outgrowing that I need to decide if I want to use or pass on. Dh bought them when we were first starting cd three months ago. Then he found cd easier than sposies so we havent touched them in a while.

I had a shower last month and asked the hostess to indicate on the e-invites that we planned to use cloth. I know, some may say that it's not right to tell someone what to gift or not to gift, but I considered that I wouldn't want to gift a momma something she was morally adverse to using. Anyway, not only did I not get sposies, but I was gifted more than ten pocket cloth diapers!
