Diaphragm

I have decided that I don't want to be on hormonal birth control anymore and am going to try the diaphragm.  Has anyone used this before? What have your experiences been?

    I tried to use one once and had a very negative experience with my OB. When I asked her about switching (after doing research that said my OB would need to size me for one and order it) she told me to just pick one up at the pharmacy/drugstore.... what? I was a little thrown, but tried it. The pharmacist was confused and looked for it on her shelves before calling a different OB to confirm it needed to be ordered. I called my OB's office and they ordered me a medium. I put it in once or twice and it was never comfortable. DH wasn't comfortable with switching our BC method so I went back to the pill... but you can bet I switched OBs!

     

    ETA: I'm not saying anything bad about diaphragms, I'm sure it would have worked fine if I had been sized correctly.
