When did your LO start sleeping through the night? I have read that preemies take longer than term babies to sleep through the night due to needing extra calories and eating frequently. I was just wondering around what age your baby started sleeping through the night or at least 5 hours?
Re: When did...
We started getting around 5-6 hours for the first sleep stretch consistently around 6 months actual (3.5 months adjusted). A week ago they actually STTN for 6 nights in a row -- 8:30PM until 5:30AM (or later), and then we had to break the swaddle ( ::tears::)
Now we're back to just one wake-up overnight -- but that first stretch of sleep is still upwards of 6-7 hours now.
The girls are probably around 13/14lbs, too -- and I know weight can sometimes help with sleeping, too.
Our boys were up once/night when I went back to work at 12 weeks (2 weeks adjusted). We'd put them down around 10 for the night and they'd be up once before 6.
By 16 weeks (6 weeks adjusted) they were going all night without waking... 10-6. I think it took til 6 months for them to go 11 hours... 7pm-6am.
We got extremely lucky, Corri only woke once a night from the time she came home from the NICU at 2 months old (like she would eat at midnight, wake at 4 and then not wake again until 8), and started STTN at 4 months old exactly (4th of July weekend three years ago).
Of course, as payback, I am sure my full termer that has yet to arrive will never sleep, lol!
