I just told my boss that I'm pregnant....I basically said so I have some news to share, I'm pregnant. He was very happy (he knew about my loss back in January) and he asked when I was due, how I was feeling etc. But I was so shaky, my voice was cracking, I was not able to sit still or look him in the eyes...UGH!
Please tell me I'm not the only who is a freakin' weirdo when it comes to telling people about being pregnant. I feel like I'm the worst at sharing the news because I get all weird about it.

Re: I am so awkward....
I haven't told anyone at work yet. I walked by the mirror earlier in the bathroom and thought "whoa, I can't hide this much longer" anywho...
My boss has been on vacation since the 1st and won't be back till next Monday. I wanted to tell her before I tell the rest of the office.
I'm weirded out at the "telling people"
omg seriously they should! haha

hmm maybe, it's also partly like telling my boss that my H and I have been having sex. Maybe that's why it felt so weird to say to him.

I am like this, too. It's like saying, "Guess what?! We had SEX! LOTS and LOTS of sex! And we made a baby!"
It just makes me giggle.

So true! I find I don't like saying "I'm pregnant" or "I'm having a baby." I seem to prefer "we're expecting." So that seems more evasive for the "we had a crapton of sex" part.
It was so awkward telling my friends, because they're always the ones that do the "Ew, that means you and H had sex" type of immature people. I just kinda said, "So, I'm pregnant, and that's it." I wouldn't make eye contact with them, either.
Now that I have a bump and am out to people, it's not as awkward anymore. But the first few people I told, I was so weird about it.

I'm awkward too at telling people. But the "guess what" part makes me laugh.
Ha ha ha I never bought of it this way!! Now I'm thinking "I wonder if that why my parents and I laws were thinking when I told them " ha ha ha.
With workouts pretty sweet seems I work with my inlaws. When we told them I just said I would have to take some time off after Christmas holidays. They were like why?? Then we showed them my shirt that said baby on board they were like no?? Really?? Ha ha ha.
When I first started telling people, I was super awkward and emotional. Now I work in an office full of ONLY guys, and they are AMAZING about it. They are all like protective older brothers and make jokes like "well Kaleigh can do the easy stuff today, cuz she's pregnant" and "Well we are crazy busy and have the pregnant girl with us. Customers can't yell at her at least"And though that may offend some women, the jokes make me laugh and more comfortable. Love my boys I work with! Totally not awkward anymore.
The best "announcing" story is when I told my parents. It was mother's day and we came over and had a cake made that said "Happy mothers day GRANDMA" on it. This is the first grandchild. My mom opened it up after dinner and read it and started shaking and crying. My SIL got the whole thing on video on my phone, and we love watching it!
