double stroller for travel?

can anyone recommend a double stroller for out trip to Disney this fall. DD's will be 5 and 2. I know our 5 year old will get tired after doing some walking so I would like to take a double stroller with us. Just not sure which is best. I would like one that reclines so that if we decide to go to downtown disney and walk around at night, it's comfortable for them to sleep in. TIA!

Re: double stroller for travel?

  • without a doubt you want the Joovy Scooter X2  (click it to see it and read reviews) - We really love ours Big Smile

This is a real quality product that will meet all your needs. It's easy to push, comfortable reclining seats,  cup holders (crucial for disney), large sun shade (crucial for disney), easy to push (crucial for disney)... You obviously need a side by side stroller since both children will want to sit and see everything

I realize that you may not want to spend so much on a stroller mainly used for one trip, but if you buy a really cheap stroller, your whole trip will be ruined - Your kids will spend most the trip in their stroller and if you save $100 on the stroller and everyone is miserable the whole trip, you wasted a lot more than $100

Actually, I'm always amazed that Joovy is so cheap for what you're getting - I think your biggest problem will be getting you 5 year old used to walking again Cool

  • I read that you can rent strollers for Disney. Either thru them or a few children's stores in the area. I would look into that and see what choices they have. A friend rented a city mini for her 2 and 4 year old last year.

  • Baby jogger city mini. You can rent one for your vacation, or buy a used one and sell afterward, or buy new and sell afterward. The mini has a nice recline, nice canopy and nice seat height.

Or get 2 singles. Maybe you already have 2 singles or can borrow one.
  • I would rent one there. You are able to rent one the whole time you are there and they have it waiting for you. After 2 trips of hauling a stroller on and off transportation and all around and having children that end up walking the entire time it is more of a hassle in my opinion. We even bought a Joovy Ultralight Caboose sit and stand thinking that even if they were tired they would like to ride, but they would rather walk or be carried. Even if your child gets tired you can always use a break. Enjoy your trip!
