Anyone else still not rolling back to belly?

DD was born Jab 14th and she still won't roll onto her belly she gets up on her side but hasn't went all the way over. Funny thing is she can sit up once you help her get into position. I think she just really isn't interested in being on her belly. I've tried inticing her with thing but no such luck

Re: Anyone else still not rolling back to belly?

  • I thought DS was never going to do it...then one day he did it like a dozen times and hasn't stopped yet. They do it when THEY are ready...LOL!

  • Yeah its funny that she can sit up but not roll over but just this last week she seems so close lol

  • DS did it once a month ago and hasn't since.
  • DD has rolled from back to belly about 5 times but isn't so into it. She can get to her side from her belly but then hangs out. She can sit unassisted for long periods of time though. Not sure why she chooses not to roll often but I'm not too concerned, every baby is different and it will happen soon enough I am sure!

  • We've not had much luck rolling either way. She's rolled belly to back maybe 4 times? And only recently as her tolerance for tummy time has increased from zero by a minute or two. She has gotten to her side from her back a few times. That's it.

  • No full back to belly yet.  She pretty much rolls all the way over except she doesn't move her arm out of the way so she's not yet fully on her belly.  The thing is though, I don't think she really cares to actually be on her belly.  I think she's more interested in just rolling to the side so she can reach things that way.  I think that's why she hasn't gotten any further than 1/2-3/4 of the way over.

It'll happen when she feels like it, I suppose.

  • So after writing this post I put her on her playmat and she rolled right onto her belly but hasn't done it again, guess she's trying to make a liar out of me. Little trickster

  • Not yet. She can get onto her back and side, crawl, and sit up with help,  but not yet back to belly. I figure she will do that when ready.

Exactly the same thing! DD gets into this weird position when she is on her side... her arm is the only part of her body that is not rolled over... so weird!

  • My DD only rolls belly to back, she doesn't even get on her side to roll while on her back. She doesn't sit up on her own, like sitting from a laying position. But if I sit her up she'll stay for a few minutes

It will come soon enough. DD loves to roll, but DS didn't roll over at all until he was closer to 7 months. They are all different. He quickly went from rolling over to crawling to walking.

DS was born on the same day and doesn't like to either. He's gone back to front but doesn't like to be on his belly.

  • DD doesn't roll yet either. I help her do it but she can't do it alone yet.
