  • I loved the Amelia Bedelia series. And the Berenstein Bears. I was reading "chapter books" from pretty early on, though, so I don't remember too many of the little kid books..

As far as movies go, I'm a big Disney buff, and LO will get lots of exposure to Disney. I'm excited to have someone to watch Disney movies with, and to get to see them from a fresh perspective. I used to go to Disneyland quite a bit, and one of my favorite things to do was people watch. Without being creepy, but watching families experience the magic of Disney together- seeing a child's face light up. I can't wait to experience that with my own child.

One of the big parenting anxieties I've been dealing with lately is that I don't have a clue how to teach a child to read! BF and I were both early readers, and I'm worried that my expectations might be too high.

  • I loved all the Dr. Seuss books as a kid. Fox in Sox was the first book I read all by myself.

Now, I love all the Sandra Boyton books. I read some of them to ds for the first time and have flashbacks of my mom reading them to me. I want her whole collection!

Since having my son, I love reading him Love You Forever. It used to creep me out and now I love it! I get it now. It makes sense the author is a drug addict though. Lol!
  • i was just reading my very own sweet pickles book to my son lol

Sooooo many to choose from!  Definitely Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle but also nursery rhymes and fairy tales.  Grew up on those and still love them.

Movies....Disney, of course, and Scooby Doo...also Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes!

  • Goodnight Moon and Corduroy were two of my childhood faves.. Happy that DD loves them now too.
She is not really into any of the movies or shows that I watched.. She does not really sit through movies in general. She still refers to a Baby Einstein video a a "movie". But, she is mesmerized by Fantasia just like I was as a kid.
