Trouble latching on the bottle

I posted this on my bmb but I thought I could grt some good feedback from y'all.

So C is almost 10 weeks and started having trouble with the bottle. It took a long time to get her to take a whole one and the one bottle she would take is the Lansinoh momma. She has been taking progressively less from the bottle and now is rejecting it completely. We've been trying different kinds but she just screams like she is being murdered haha.

She will sometimes try to latch to the bottle but can't seem to get a good grip on it. She would try and suck and would go for a while so I was sure she was getting at least an oz or two, but I'd check and she would basically be sucking and not getting anything, so I think she gets frustrated because of those two things.

Any suggestions? Techniques? Maybe a faster flow nipple? Latex? She won't take the playtex drop ins now either. I think she might be starting to teethe if that makes any difference. She also won't take a paci.

  • I think you could certainly try a faster flow nipple.  I don't know if you're giving bottles regularly or not...for us, anything to get him to take that rare bottle was fine.  It never messed with breastfeeding because he only had a bottle once in a blue moon.  If you are feeing bottles very regularly, you might encounter problems if you switch to a faster flow nipple, since your LO may then get frustrated at the breast because its "too slow".
