Playing the Name Game

Normally I don't think I'd jump on the train, but we just decided on a boy's name this weekend so I'm kind of excited. We're going to try to be Team Greeners (well, I want to be Team Green and he wants to know. But I'm doing the hard work here so I told him I win this debate).

Girl: Sadie Lynn

Boy: Carson John

I almost died when DH came in saying he had the perfect girl's name and he got it from Duck Dynasty. But I actually kind of like it. My mom thinks it sounds like an old lady name, but it's not too popular but not too obsolete. And the middle names are DH and I's middle names.

*lifting up big girl panties*

Side note: We told our parents we had picked up Ebenezer for the boy's name and that we were going to call him Ebby. Weirdly enough, Ebby is kind of growing on my mom and I. But I'm pretty sure DH won't let that happen in this lifetime

I like your choices. Sadie is my dog's name and I like it so much I wish she had a different name so I could use it if our baby is a girl.

I don't mind those names at all. Sadie and Sophie have become super-popular around here.

Funny you're starting to like Ebby... I have a friend who named her son Sebastian, and they call him Sebby. I think it's so cute.

My friend has a dog named Sadie, too. Popular dog's name We adopted a dog named Chloe and although it suits her perfectly, I was kind of bummed. I love the name Chloe but that immediately had to be tossed out of the Baby Name Potential Book.

I have loved Sadie since I watched that movie Big Business when I was a kid lol. I don't care much for Lynn but only because it's my middle name and I feel like it's just a filler name. Carson is good and I love John. Ebenezer would totes be awesome for a Christmas baby

Lynn is my middle name and my mom's middle name...I just like that it seems to go with most names. I'm rarely addressed with my middle name anyway.

Ebenezer might end up being the joke that became real. We were trying to think of a name that would make everyone freak out, but I swear it's really growing on me...

I think Sadie was originally used as a nn for Sarah, but I am not positive on that. However, my DH's best friend has a daughter named Sadie, and I think it is really cute and great.

I was a perfect angel lol. My first name is 3 syllables so that was probably enough to instill the fear of God in me as a child.

I think Sadie is cute. Don't do Ebenezer. It's cute when your pregnant but your poor baby will spend forever hearing "don't be such a Scrooge" especially with a Christmas birthday.

Interesting! I hadn't thought of that. We have a really odd last name, so I definitely have to think of all the options. I think it would be okay with it though. I don't mind CJ, but I'll mention it to DH and see what he thinks.

the only way he will become cj is if you start that. Most people won't even know his middle name. Someone told me while I was pregnant with Ds that everyone would see his first 2 initials were LClike Laguna beach. No one ever noticed that. I'm so glad I didn't listen.

I love Sadie and considered it with my first. I did get the "I had a dog named Sadie" comment a lot. Who knew?

I figure the middle name is just going to be a filler anyway. I hardly ever call DH with his middle name and nobody ever calls me by my middle name. They're just for "show" since they're our middle names. You do have me thinking about Sadie Lynn as a little girl name though. People keep telling me to name them something that you can imagine a CEO having. But again, my middle name is rarely used or brought up, so it could still work.

I think of Sebastian and immediately go back to Cruel Intentions. It's one of my favorite movies, but I don't think I could name my son Sebastian just because of the character lol

I love both Sadie and Carson! I know two little girls named Sadie and it's not short or a nn for anything else. I think it's really pretty and not overused. Carson is cute too, I don't know any. I don't think people will say CJ unless you tell people to call him that. Cute names!
