Concert in Third Trimester

My favorite band just announced tour dates and will be here at the end of November, which means I'll be close to 7 months preg. I'm assuming it's totally fine and the baby will be safe and cozy inside. I'm more concerned about how I'll be feeling at that stage, I'm a FTM. Maybe those of you with LOs have some insight. The venue is pretty steep with lots of stairs, how wobbly will I be at that stage?

Well, no one is "supposed" to smoke...but there's always copious amounts of marijuana consumed at Pearl Jam concerts...and its an indoor venue. Eek. I'm starting to freak myself out! Yeah, I'll get tix and if I don't go, I can always find someone who will.

  • I did pretty much everything I did before right up until I was in labor except for running which I stopped at around 6 months. I walked 3 miles per day, wore heels to work, went to football and hockey games, Etc.

    I would buy the tickets.

Thanks, Tally! That's comforting to hear! It'll be my first time seeing them without drinking consuming wine before and during! I may actually remember the show better! Ha!

You will have to report back in your sober concert experience! I have never gone to a concert as an adult alcohol free either!

  • I have found that most people smoke in the higher sections cause it's harder to get caught.
Maybe invest in good seats so you have less stairs and less weed around?

  • I think you should go! I had tickets when I was pregnant with DS and I didn't go & I still regret it! I have tickets to another in November also & will def, be going this time around :)

  • Agreed! I would say go, especially since it sounds like you'll have seats. I went to a concert at about 8 months pregnant last time around. We were supposed to be standing on the floor, and my feet were hurting before the concert even started. We had to beg for a seat instead, and we got lucky, so I'd definitely avoid standing areas. The show wasn't *quite* as good alcohol-free, but we still had a good time :)

Yeah, we'll go for tix. I'm a member of the fan club and they do things a little differently. Fan club seats are better than those sold to the public...but they sell out. This time they'll have a GA section on the floor as well as reserved seats, you can pick which ones you try for. You get first and second choice. So, I'll try for reserved seats at the san diego show as my first choice and reserved seats at the l.a. show. I can't imagine being that pregnant and not having a place to sit down! Not to mention the people crowding the GA section.

    Thanks for the advice, ladies!
  • I am going to a concert in December and January and am due Feb 4!

Nice! Who're you going to see?
  • I'd say to go! I went and saw a concert when I was that far along and the baby danced along the whole time. It was fun!
  • I went to a concert the weekend I went into labor. It was a smaller venue and no like mosh pit or anything, but it was fine.

Jealous! We tried to get tickets to see Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field this summer, but they sold out too fast. FWIW, I agree, get the tickets and go if you feel like it.

A lot of people got shut out. Ironically, I have all next week off work and if I had known I would've tried for tix. My best friends are going!
  • We're flying to Vegas at the end of November to see Shania Twain as well as Justin Timberlake. I'll be about 28 weeks but just because we're pregnant doesn't mean we can't also have fun :)!
