We packed up and went to the Lake with my family. Unfortunately, like a lot of the South East, we spent most of it indoors. It rained pretty much the whole time except for the second half of the day on Friday (during which I managed to get the most ridiculous looking, uneven sunburn ever). It was a huge bummer but it was nice to spend time with everyone and have some help with the girls. We ate lots of yummy food and went to the outlet malls one day where my Mom and sister totally went overboard buying the girls clothes.

Also, my sister got engaged on Friday night! Her bf/fiancee and I have been in cahoots for months now and he came up to spend the weekend and did it there. He was so nervous, but it was adorable. She wants a December wedding so it looks like I need to get serious about toning up this post twin body ASAP. Tongue Tied

Aw that is so exciting!!! Well you've got 6 months and can probably get away with toning your arms from carrying your girls, and your cardio from running after them soon! Or join our healthy living checkin :)

  • Our weekend was pretty fun. We didn't do too much on the 4th, just a bbq with our friends without kids which means a 7 o'clock dinner time lol and lots of booze. I let DH have a couple drinks bc they are more his friends than mine and I drove DS home around 7:30 so it was pretty uneventful for me but nice to get out.

The next night we had a family bbq which was nice. Saturday I just hung around with my parents and niece and nephew because DH had to work. Sunday we went swimming for the first time with DS. He was unimpressed but didn't mind it. He cracks me up, like seriously no expression. Kinda like, "booorrring". He loves his bath so I was expecting a little more but nope. Overall a pretty good weekend :)

  • We had a relaxing weekend and it was fabulous!  DH only had off on Thursday, not Friday.  Thursday we went to his parents' house for their annual cookout.  It was so nice to get out of the house, even though it was only a few hours.  My parents visited us Friday evening, and then we just spent Saturday and Sunday relaxing and catching up on a few things around the house.

  • Our weekend was good. We live in Canada so no long weekend for us, but want to participate in this thread anyways!

DH worked most of Saturday, I hung out with a friend and went for a bike ride with DS.

Sunday we went to the zoo as a family. It was fun- hot, but good. Our zoo is undergoing major renovations so it was a bit of a dissapointment- I guess I haven't been there in over 5 years, but it was fun to go out as a family!

  • Our 4th of July was amazing!  I mean, I was dreading it because we have a 3 1/2 month old.  I figured schedules would get blown away, the heat would bother her, she wouldn't like the pool, she'd be cranky from being off schedule... NOPE!  None of that happened!

She's STTN, so she woke up that morning, had a bottle, played for a while, then went down for her morning nap around 10.  She napped for 2 hrs and when she woke up it was time to head out.  We put her immediately in the car seat and went to a friend's house and went to the pool.  She loved the water!  After the pool, our friends' kids needed naps, so all 3 children went down for naps at the same time!  The adults sat out back on the patio, had grown up conversation and some beers, and she again napped for 2 hrs.  This wasn't her house, her crib, but she was definitely comfortable if she slept that long.  Then we played with the kids outside, packed up, and went home for bathtime and bedtime. I mean really?!  I never expected it to be this... dare I say... easy.  We're heading to New Orleans this weekend for a wedding, and I'm hoping things go that well there too.

Our 4th was way better than expected. I still get nervous about going out with DD as far as her mood, packing enough, throwing off her routine. She did great! She napped, ate, napped, was up alert and happy then slept in her carrier around her normal bedtime. We had some nice fireworks and went home around 10. My mom came by on Friday so it was a relaxing day. DH went shark fishing on Saturday catching a 280lb thresher and saw a 4000lb great white! He got video of it which is so cool.

We celebrated our 4th of July on Friday.  Went to my parents and Liv played in the baby pool with her cousin (2.5 years).  She wasn't super impressed but didn't mind watching her cousin and staring at her feet in the water.  She wasn't at her best that day, her teeth were bugging her, but she was content most of the time and Mommy got to partake in some wine.  The rest of the weekend we spent doing the normal weekend errands and chores.  Not super exciting but it was nice seeing DH more than usual.

Haha my son likes looking at his feet in the water too!

I took Friday off work as well and LOVED the 4 day weekend! DH had to work a little on Friday, but overall it was a great weekend with family. On the 4th, we went to a community festival for a bit and then bbq'ed with friends and watched fireworks from their house. We spent more time with friends on Saturday and Sunday and it was a great relaxing weekend. It was hard to come back to work today but I feel pretty rejuvenated.

That sounds like fun! I didn't get to see any fireworks this year, hoping I can next year though.

That is so cool that your husband got to see that! How amazing.

  • It was great! Busy, but great! I had off Wednesday (my usual day off) and Thursday... Had to work Friday, which kinda stank, but it is what it is.

Thursday we went to my grandmother's house for a BBQ. B was SO good! We came home in time to go to the fireworks, but DH and I were so beat, we decided to just stay home and watch Macy's fireworks on TV.

Saturday, we were back in NJ for my cousin's 10th birthday party. We had a blast! I helped my uncle with all the cooking which is always so much fun! And I baked a cake for my cousin- she requested a chocolate cake with banana and nutella filling with vanilla icing- it was super yummy! Took B in the pool, which he LOVED! He also got his first puree- peas! (I was planning on waiting til he turned 6 months, but he has been SO interested in food the past week. Reaching and grabbing for what we're eating, so I figured what the heck.)  He loved those, too.

Sunday I had to fill in for our pastor who is on vacation. I didn't have to give the sermon (thank God for that, lol!) but ran the worship service. I was super nervous, but I did well. We spent the rest of Sunday hanging around the house, doing laundry and other fun stuff.

I pretty much could have written this myself!  I have blocked out our Thursday with my MIL.  We both had to work on Friday which sucked.  Saturday we went to my brothers house and had a very similar experience.  I was shocked at how awesome she did.  Everyone was just gushing about how good of a baby she is. She was unimpressed with the pool which seems to be a common theme.  I really expected her to either love it or hate it but really I got nothing.  Here is a bonus pic of M and me.  Her big fur brother is always watching over her!

We are also going to a wedding this weekend but it's in Houston.  I hope that both of our girls do great for us!

Dang! You're coming to Houston the weekend I'm leaving! We'll have to figure out a time to meet next time you come this way.
