indoor pools

What's your thoughts on LO's going in indoor pools? My aunt lives in a 55 plus community w/ a clubhouse that has an indoor pool. She keeps inviting us over but I'm hesitant. I thought I read something about the high level concentration of chlorine isn't good, but I'm not sure. I'd love to take him as it would be something new and different. Please tell me your thoughts good, bad or indifferent! TIA

    I called the pediatrician's office to ask about pools last week. The nurse told me pools are fine, just to be sure to bathe the baby after and to clean their ears to make sure there's no water in there! Obviously we shielded DS from the sun too but with an indoor pool that's a non issue!

    ETA - I'm not sure about indoor pools being that different, but you could always call the doc and ask!

    Runt went in an indoor pool at four months. Pedi said it was fine. I bathed her after just to be safe :)

    I take M in an indoor pool for swimming lessons each week. I make sure to bathe her after.

    I read an article that there may be a link between breathing problems and the chlorine in the air (with indoor pools). Maybe this is what you are thinking about.

    We go in the pool weekly for infant swim lessons.  I don't even usually bathe her after because she passes out as soon as we walk in the door, but maybe I should start...oops

    The pool does not smell like chlorine at all though, which is weird because I am used to smelling like a bottle of bleach when I get out of a pool.

    I took him to an indoor pool at like two months before I even realized that we shouldn't. Not sure why that didn't occur to me sooner but it didn't. He loves the water. We've gone to the pool several times.
