So our lo has been extremely fussy these last 2 days. He won't nap and seems to only be content for 10 minutes max. I don't think he is teething as he is not drooling and has no fever. He is 23 weeks. I want my baby back: Does anyone else have experience with this?
I pump and feed him every 3 hours at night too. I was thinking of switching to formula starting tonight not sure anymore I have 3 months supply in the freezer so was going to do 50/50. Is this the right mix or should I do 25/75, etc? He has had reflux and continues to spit up after every feeding however I want to stop pumping so was thinking of introducing formula at night to start with.
Lastly, he continually rolls over at night and nap time and hits his head on the crib rails and/or loses his nuk. He can't yet roll back on to his back. This keeps us up. Any help to all my concerns and questions is appreciated.
Re: Crabby baby
My LO is 23 weeks and has had some crabby periods here recently as well. I think that starting at 22.5 there is a "fussy period" according to the "wonder weeks" chart. Especially if he's been rolling and developing more--I know development can lead to fussiness.
Is there a reason you wanted to switch to formula now? Has he had it before? I would just go slow as it may upset his tummy if he hasn't had it before. My DD is EBF so I don't have any advice as far as that goes...but not sure switching would help him sleep any better.
Hope that he breaks from his crabby stage soon--I definitely miss my pleasant baby this week but remember that this too shall pass!
As far as switching to formula, I have been exclusively pumping this far and I am calling it quits so he needs to transition to formula. I felt so bad last week but given this weekend I am more than ready: I have to travel for work in two weeks so I want to be done by then.
