Tubes Tied Surrogate?

Quick Question: I've always wanted to be a surrogate even before having my own children. I'm due with my son on September 8th and this will be our last child. We need to decide how we are going go about birth control knowing that I want to do this. If I get my tubes tied, can I still be a surrogate? I wouldn't want to use my own eggs anyway.

I'm going to ask my OB at my next appointment but that's not for a few weeks.

    Seems like it'd be ok to me - ask your doctor - but if you don't plan to use your own eggs (gestational carrier) then IVF will work fine. I have no tubes at all and I got pregnant using donor egg/donor sperm, so really not much different! :)

    Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect. :(
    Jul '13 - FET#1 - c/p
    Sept. '13 - FET#2 - BFN
    Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
    Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
    EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
    Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
    We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle

    You can have your tubes tied an still be a surro.  I actually know of a woman on another board that was doing surrogacy so she could afford to have her tubal reversed.  She ended up needing an emergency hysterectomy at 15w so she lost the baby and her ability to carry ever again, just a reminder to all of us surros that we need to be totally happy with the family we currently have before we help another couple add to their family because you can't ever count on having more of your own later.

    Thanks ladies!! I didn't think there would be a problem with it but I thought it wouldn't hurt to check! Even though we are still a year or two away from starting the process, I don't want to do anything that will jeopardize my chances later.
