Maternity pictures

Are most of you guys getting them done? I'm still not sure, I hate getting pictures made but I don't know! Any STM's not get them done and regret it or still don't really care you didn't?

I am! I got a caterpillar to butterfly package. Maternity, newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 1 year old. Kind of excessive..perhaps but I don't know if I'll have this opportunity again, so I'm just gonna go for it.

I say, do what you feel is right for you. You don't necessarily need to hire a professional photographer for some very special pictures to capture this moment in your life.

Didnt get them done with dd and wont get them this time either. We take plenty of pics, dont feel like i need professional ones

I really wanted to do them, but we are in the process of pricing out photogs for newborn pics now and seemingly the going rate for newborn sessions in the Baltimore metropolitan area starts at 500... And is really more like 1000 plus if you want the rights to the pics. Ugh. We can barely afford that with the govt furloughing DH coming up. So I am going to have to forego the maternity pics cause we would much rather spend our money on newborn pics once baby is born.

I planned on doing them last time, and then I swelled up! I didn't feel like taking pics of it. I never regretted it or felt the need to try this time. I am good without them.

I didn't last time and I regret it. We are doing a family session this time since we haven't done family pictures in over a year.

I did it last time, but a good friend who does photography as a hobby did it. I am so glad I did! I loved them!! This time... no. HAHA! I feel bad but it is just different, plus, we are going to take family pics in the Bahamas when this baby is about 4 months old.... and that will be expensive enough I am sure.

I got a groupon for a photo package. It was only $25, so if I like then great, if not, oh well it was only $25.

I have been so lax about getting any photos. I haven't even been doing weekly ones, by any means. I am thinking about getting professional ones done just so that I can have some memories of this time, and maybe they will be able to make me look better than I do in our own awful photos. I am worried that if I don't, I might regret it.

I got them done with DD.

This time we're doing a family shoot. We usually get pro pics done in July bc that's when DD's birthday is, so this is a combo family/3rd birthday/maternity shoot.

We are getting both maternity and newborn photos professionally taken. It's such an amazing time in our lives and we want to capture these wonderful moments.

I have a woman in Frederick that charges $300 for newborn photos and $450 for a newborn and maternity package. You get the rights to ALL of the photos (she gives you a disc). She doesn't do any editing, but she teaches you how to use an online program to edit to black and white, etc. Her photographs are phenomenal and she has every prop you can think of. I'm using her for newborn but I'm not sure if we will do maternity or not. If the places around you are that expensive it might be worth the drive to Frederick for the quality of photos for the price!

I don't feel like I need them. We've taken pictures while traveling this summer and hanging out with friends. I'm happy to have photos with memories attached that included the growing belly and my DH. But I'm also the kind of person who had a more documentary type photographer at my wedding.

I am having maternity/ family pics done in a couple of weeks. Then we're going to do birth, 6 mo and a year. There won't be any bare bumps pics for me (they are cute when other people do them) ... between the stretch marks and the bruises from my heparin shots, my belly looks like a war zone! lol
