I am flying from Las Vegas, NV to Eugene, OR which isn't too long of a
flight (about 2 hours.) I am most likely having him sit in my lap but my
only problem is he has the attention span of a guppy... he has SO much
energy and hates to sit still. I don't want to medicate him so I was
wondering if any one had any tips. I am flying solo so anything helps! I
need to keep him entertained for 3+ hours...
Re: Flying with a 17 month old... HELP!
New toys. Don't show them to him 'til you're on the plane. Will he watch videos? We almost never have the TV on around LO so baby video capture his attention. (Used them a little on recent car trip. My parents have a little DVD player, otherwise you could use a computer.)
Also give him special food, particularly on take off and landing. We found that the flight attendants were helpful when we did fly (around 14 mo) and most people just awed at our cute baby.
When the seatbelt light is off, you can walk to aisle with him if he gets ansy.
Good luck!
I just flew with my little guy, Seattle to Denver, Denver to Omaha. LO preferred we sit by the window because there was more to look at. The aisle seat was REALLY tough because he just wanted to run in the aisle. Have plenty of snack foods and drinks and I bought some new toys for the plane. Have fun....I LOVE Eugene!!!!
