eeek, starting my career tomorrow!!

I'm officially a physician assistant. I start my job tomorrow working at a small private family practice. At this point I'm about 20% excited and 80% scared sh.1tless.

I actually don't take my boards until Friday (cue another nervous pit in my stomach), so I won't be prescribing or totally responsible for killing anyone for a couple more weeks. Mostly just learning my computer and figuring out how the place works and what's available.

I don't know my new co-workers well at all, and I already dropped the bomb on them that I'm knocked up. Indifferent

Hopefully a positive attitude and working hard will go a long way...

I'm also pretty excited that our household income is going to more than double overnight tonight.

    Best of luck to you when you start this new journey!!! You will do great and get the hang of it in no time. Being pregnant will also give you something to talk about with all of your new coworkers and make it easier for you to fit fight in. Also good luck on the boards!!!!! XO

    RE consult Dec 2012, diagnosed with lean PCOS (didn't see that coming!)  medicated cycles 1 - 4 = BFN

    I'm a newer nurse practitioner (just over 1 year) and I know the nerves! Just bring a little book to write down the if things and remember that they will probably start you off easy! School has prepared you! You'll be great!

    Hope you had a great first day! I'm a PA too, in general surgery and I love, love, love being a PA. Good luck with the PANCE Friday, school has definitely prepared you for it. Take a deep breath, relax, and knock the socks off that test!
