LO's favorite book?

What are LO's favorite books right now? Howell loves Goodnight Gorilla and What Do we Do with the Boo hoo Baby? He also likes One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Tumble Bumble and those In My [tree, nest, den, etc books]. He will page through Goodnight Gorilla and laugh out loud at the funny parts by himself so that's the clear winner. What about you?

Re: LO's favorite book?

  • Perfect Piggies by Sandra Boynton.
I like to think Mina loves the Madeline books as well because she will sit through them most of the time. I loved those books as a kid so I'm probably just biased.

  • Oliver thinks Curious George tastes delicious. And Brown Bear Brown Bear is the most fun to carry around the living room while chanting. He enjoys pushing I Love You Through and Through across the room like a toy car, too.

Lol. He couldn't care less about books right now. I try to read to him everyday, but I just results in him ripping the book out of my hands and running away.

DS doesn't like books the way DD did. He's too busy trying to crawl and bang things to make noise.

I bet he'll catch on since you read to DD already. My sister's kids are 17 months apart and now my nephew listens to my niece read him chapter books when he wouldn't sit for books as a little one. It's so cute watching them together. It ALMOST makes me want 2U2.

  • Scuffy the Red Painted Tugboat is the only one he will sit most of the way through. Most of the time, he tries to eat or tear up the pages.

Have you got any of those touch and feel books or those In My Den or In My Nest and such books? They have a little finger puppet attached to them and they hold attention. Also there's that That's Not My [adlib animal] series. That is another good one for grabbing attention because they all have something to touch on every page and are super short.

  • DD mostly jumps on my head and grabs the book at this point. DS didn't listen to books til like 18 months so I don't expect much yet.

  • LO really loves Pete the Cat "I Love My White Shoes," he gets so excited when I read it, laughing and clapping--we even took some of our family pictures of me reading to him because it is such a big part of his life, he just loves it.

He also loves Dr. Suess' "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?" and will always pull either this book or Pete the Cat out of his book basket for me to read. He loves books, just like his mama!

  • DS loves his touch and feel books, Very Hungry Caterpillar, and The foot book.   He LOVES to turn the pages in his board books, so as long as there aren't too many words on the pages, he'll sit through 10 books, lol!

  • My son likes looking through books on his own but could care less about listening to me read. I try to read to him every night but he spends the whole time trying to squiggle out of my lap. The only one he seems somewhat into is Goodnight Moon, probably because its a large board book.
