August 2012 Moms

Let's have coffee.

Who's up? I'm freaking exhausted. Today was supposed to be my day to sleep in but my H got sick last night. Like, throwing up sick. Ugh, always something.

I'm having coffee, my kid is playing but keeps taking breaks to come over and slap me then shake her head at me.

What are you doing?

Re: Let's have coffee.

  • I'd rather have a kid throwing up than an H! Poor you! I was up a ton last night because I am sick but h is "feeling queasy" after the fish and chips we had last night. What a delicate flower he is.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • Loading the player...
  • Drinking copious amounts of coffee while taking occasional breaks to shake out more puffs onto highchair trays. What happened to my good sleepers? I used to get 14 straight hours out of them without a peep. This teething ish is for the birds. I plan on being a more attentive mom once this cup of coffee is gone...or maybe the next one.

  • Drinking coffee and trying to decide if I want to go to church or play hooky. I'm tired even though I got more sleep last night and I really just want to sit or sleep in the peace and quiet while the boys nap. DH is probably going to work on the deck today so I'm content to stay home but we'll see.

  • Sorry poppy :( I'm making my coffee right now and going to enjoy it with peach cobbler. L is at a sleepover and my DH is golfing. B is playing around on the floor with toys!

  • Enjoying my morning with my mom while DS plays in his highchair. We are heading home from the cottage today ;(.
  • Eli just went down for his morning nap. I'm debating whether to turn the channel or finish the episode of "Back at the Barnyard" that I'm now invested in.
  • We just finished breakfast and coffee chez moi. It was DDs first time having eggs so I'm a little nervous and hoping she doesn't have a reaction.
I have a baby shower to go to at noon so I need to shower and make a dash to target to buy a case of Pampers. I crocheted her a teddy bear hat, too, so I'm calling that good!
  • I'm up. It was my day to sleep in as well...if you call "sleeping in" DH running up the stairs with our screaming baby at 6:00 a.m yelling about how she took a rumble off the couch. Of COURSE she tumbled...she is effing mobile now you man twat.
So I calmed her down and now it's about 8:35 and I sent him to get me Dunkin Donuts...large iced coffee...mmmmm.
Sorry your DH is sick, Poppy. That's THE worst.

  • I need coffee stat. I'm currently in bed, waiting to see the results on my CBEFM so I can put them in FF. I went to bed at 2 am after doing a butt load of laundry...DH got up at 4:30 to go fly fishing and wasn't discreet about getting ready, then DD got up at 6:30 and went back to bed and now an hour later, if fussing in her crib. Someone shoot me now. I just want to shop online in my bed all day.

  • We're on our way to church, where I'll spend more than half the service in the mother's room. We go every week and everyone always says,"That's so great that you bring him! He'll get used to it easier." Well, it's been 11 months, so when exactly does that happen?!

They do provide childcare, but I don't know the teachers and G would freak the eff out if I left him with two random people.

I wish I had a TH iced cap, with at least 4 shots of mint.

  • DH took the kids to church & I'm staying home to watch the Wimbledon final!  Ahhh....  It's my guilty pleasure every year, and reminds me of my mom because she loved watching tennis too.  I'm not a coffee girl, so I just had a bowl of cereal.

You should get to know them so you can get a break. He may freak out at first but he'll be fine. He's almost a year old, so should probably get used to being around different people, you know? I know it's tough but I think you'll be surprised at how well he does.

  • Everyone is still asleep except for me and Oliver. I'm sitting on the couch drinking coffee, in between my every five seconds of getting up and redirecting Oliver from the 5 things he cannot play with to the one billion things he can play with.

DH is sleeping not even half a foot from me and he "is sound asleep". I think he's faking it.

  • We've been up for a while. L had two really good nights sleep and last night was back to waking every hour. I'm really hoping its because he's getting so many teeth in at once. Dh thinks I'm critical if every parenting decision he makes and I'm not, truly, so I do t know where he's getting this from burning trying to be respectful of his feelings and stay aware if the things I say. He gets this way once a month or so when we haven't gotten to spend one together away from L so in trying to find someone to watch him for a few hours next weekend and hopefully dh will feel better about things. We have a really good relationship so when stuff like this comes up its hard on me, too.

Anyhow, it's really hot and humid here already and makes me wish we had a pool.

BBJ, do you know if he stops crying once you're out of sight?

Oliver also flips the eff out if someone he doesn't know even looks at him, but once DH and I are out if sight he is fine. [for the most part.]

Yep. The minute I'm out of the room, even on Wednesday when my entire family was over...all people he knows well. His top two teeth are coming in, so that isn't helping matters, but he's always been like this.

I don't know how we'll survive daycare, lol.

  • Finally stopped raining for a bit, so DH ran to mow at our old house since it has a few showings this week. I took DD out, and we planted pumpkin seeds. They're in late, but whatever - hopefully a few take for the fall. Then we went a walk up and down our driveway while I enjoyed some coffee. She is now napping, and I'm on here for a hot minute before laying out tools to build our laundry line, showering, and making bread.

  • Ds is taking his morning nap, and I'm laying in bed with him looking at birthday banners on Etsy. I may order one if I find one I like.

MIL wants to go to lunch today. I may have to drink a few glasses of wine beforehand to survive the event.

I would try it. You're in the same building. I was hesitant to try the gym daycare for the same reasons. I'm not 100 percent sold that the providers are all that great but he has a good time with the other kids and I'm I'm the same building so they can find me if he's beside himself. They did have to a few times but he adjusted. It's good for both of you. One of my biggest fears is I will have that boy who won't eat apples unless they're cut exactly how mom cuts them.

  • Wishing we had a keurig right now. Or any coffee machine for that matter.

DS has been up since 6 and only took a 45 minute nap. DH took the day off but will spend most of the afternoon putting in floors for our friends.

  • I just BFed Mina and I'm trying to decide what to feed her for breakfast. We've done pancakes for the past two weeks and she seemed to like them until yesterday. I'm so tired and I can tell she is tired too. Go back to sleep, baby girl!

Later today we'll go to church and then to my parents for family dinner. We're celebrating my birthday and my youngest sister's birthday. Her birthday is the day after mine.

I'm here, so hungover. So so hungover. We stayed the night at my sisters and need to go pick up A soon from my parents' house Jack Daniels 1 Gina 0

Jack and Coke...mmmm. I haven't one of those in a while and thankfully not the hangover, too. I hope you feel better stat. Gatorade always seems to help others.

  • Just heard the coffee maker maker beep the sweet beep of Coffee's Ready! DD had a bottle and we'll head downstairs for her to play and me to caffeinate.

I'm sulking today. My best friend is supposed to be here for a short visit but her flight got cancelled last night due to all the stuff happening at SFO. Now she doesn't get here until midday tomorrow and she leaves Tuesday. Wah! We haven't seen each other since October. I think I want to just lie in my bed all day and pout.

Gabe had a whole bin of toys to play in this morning.  Of course he found the one stuffed animal that I somehow forgot to take the hang tag off of and began chewing it!

i haven't had coffee yet, but I hear DH making me some right now.  I had awful insomnia last night and couldn't sleep until 3, which of course is when DS became restless.  I woke up at 7 in a puddle because DS leaked, thankfully it was all on the waterproof pad!  I was so tired but DH let me "sleep in" the last 3 days, so I curled up on the floor of the nursery with a swaddling blanket and a stuffed animal for a pillow and let DS have at it.  I closed my eyes a few times, but he came over and poked my eyes until I opened them....good thing he's so darn cute!

  • Now my kid has decided she will not nap today. Awesome.

  • T is fighting going down for his morning nap, after getting up at the ungodly hour of 5:45am this morning. I fed him a bottle and didn't even get another 30 min out of him. Ugh. So we got up, he watched some Sesame Street while I made a HUGE batch of pancakes for the week for him to bring to daycare. This kid loves pancakes.  I made them with carrot and blueberries.
