Big 'ol bras

Question to you other 'well endowed' ladies...

I've been wearing preg/nursing bras since like 8wks because my previously 38DD boobs decided to get too big for normal bras. Now my best ones are actually from additionElle. However, they are pretty full coverage and I can't wear strapless/tank tops because of this. I have a couple maxidresses that I will wear once in a while and suck it up that my bra peeks out over the top.
However, I have my maternity photos next week and I want to wear the one maxi dress sooooo bad. It's got removable spaghetti straps. I can't find a strapless in my size, but I'm almost wondering about trying a bandeau. Has anyone else who is 'bigger' successfully tried one? I'm 36H in case you're wondering
Or are there any other suggestions?
Thanks ladies!!

  • Busting out of 36G over here (I must get my butt to the mall).

You need to head over to Nordstrom or find a local bra shop.  Find a nice sales lady, get measured and tell her what you need.

I agree that full coverage bras are a PITA and like to peek out of everything.  They do make strapless in our sizes, you just have to look harder.

I know other girls like to order online, I'm sure there will be some websites thrown into this post.

  • Oh I should mention that I'm Canadian so there's not nearly as much variety here.
We do have a specialty bra store in town but I think they start around 80 which is too rich for my taste :
  • Sorry to say this, but I have never found a bra that was worth anything that didn't cost $$.  You're gonna have to suck it up if you really want one.

  • I'd never recommend a bandeau on anyone...they always push your boobs down and are never flattering. Like PPs said, I'd go to a nice department store and invest in something supportive and flattering. It will be well worth it for your photos and any time you want to wear that cute dress or tank top

I'm a 32F and $80 is the low end for most of the bras I buy. Typically the more moderately priced stores don't carry my size, and if they do, their bras aren't great.

I like shopping at Nordstrom and Intimacy. My favorite brands include Le Mystere, Simone Perle. The Spanx Bra-llelujiah is my most comfortable everyday/ t-shirt bra.

I agree. Invest in a good bra especially with large breasts. I'm currently a 34G. I usually get fitted and buy one in store then head to breakout bras.com. It has high end large size bras, nursing bras and swimwear!
  • Le sigh.

I knew in my heart these were the answers I'd get, I was just hoping for cheaper solutions. I'll have to suck it up and put in some dollars at a specialty store.
  • Good luck. If you have big breasts and do happen to find a strapless bra in your size it does no good anyway as you don't have support so looks like you aren't even wearing a bra.
