TTC first child. Still trying to understand the lingo and abbreviations here! So far I've learned that waiting 2 weeks to test is excruciating! Anyone else feel my pain? Have any suggestions as a first timer TTC?
I am in the same boat as you. A lot of people recommended the site Fertility Friend. I've just started using it and so far it is helpful. Good luck to you!
The thing that have helped me the most are charting my cycle using FertilityFriend (a free website many of us here use). It's really all about giving yourself the best possible chances of conception, which means timing sex during your fertility window. Charting my BBT, monitoring CM, and keeping track of what my body is doing helps me feel in control of my cycle. It may not be for you, but it is a good place to start. They have free tutorials that have great information.
As far as the 2WW, it's definitely hard. (Un)Fortunately it does seem to get easier over time. Knowing that I've done everything I can, keeps some of the nerves at bay, as does staying in as normal of a routine as possible.
Best of luck.
Trying to get knocked up since June 2012 ~ Dx: PCOS
I would recommend the fertility friend app and charting your bbt.....and know that it can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive (although the waiting is torture!)
Finding a hobby can help pass the time in a good way, but learning about how your body works is the best advice I can give.
Good luck and if you stick around these ladies will teach you tons!
My Babies! Tried for one full year before we got our BFP!

TTC#2 Since July 2011
Me: 29, had two blocked tubes - left was cleared during lap, right was unable to be cleared. PCOS & Stage 2 Endo. DH: 32, SA = perfect CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's. FEMARA: 1 round = no response 12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed. Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
Cycle #15 - no meds, still have cysts, no follicles. Boo!
Forced break. Continuous BCP for 6 weeks to give my jacked up ovaries a break. Cycle #16 actively trying (May/June): Femara, TI = BFN Cycle #17- #20 - Med/Treatment break, trying on our own = BFN's all around. Cycle #21 - Femara, MORE Femara, Ovidrel and a Christmas IUI = BFN
MY BLOG -- About DD, TTC and everything in between!
Welcome and good luck! Just keep in mind that even with doing everything right, you still only have about a 20% chance of conceiving each cycle. I agree with the others that fertility friend is a great source to help you better understand your cycle. There are tutorials available for free on the website to help you out. GL!
Previous posters have given good advice. I'm a type A planner, so the best thing I learned was patience. It can take a healthy couple up to one year to conceive, so live your life while you wait and have fun with all the sex!

Yes! I certainly feel your pain! I stopped BC 6/24 and still haven't had any bleeding. I really want to be pregnant and I'm still waiting to take a test. I've taken probably about 10 (yes I know obsessive) but they've all been negative ): I'm going to take one this Monday or so and see if I get a positive. I hate waiting as I'm a very impatient person! Hope you get your BFP soon! Baby Dust!
I'm very obsessive. I know it's too early, but I think I'm hoping just a little too much. Lol. I'm taking a break from testing as I think it will be best. Well, my temp was very elevated last week and it had a dip and now it seems to be on the rise again.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I'm going to check out FF and let you all know! I do keep track of my cycle on a period log app that is supposed to tell me when im fertile and ovulating. My cycle is very consistent and hoping I gave myself the best chance this month! Good luck to everyone else too!

Unless you're inputting temperatures and or CM into that app, it's completely useless. Please do sign up for the FF emails so you learn as much as possible about your body. I found the email lessons super helpful when I started TTC.

Have sex as much as possible Lol. I'm just as impatient but me and my Dh love love making so we make our chances pretty good every month.
This is great! But you still only make your chances about 20% each month. Keep having the sex for sure (because it's fun) but try to remember that it's ok if it takes more than a few months.

My advice? Got a hobby and learn some patience. We all want to be pregnant right this second.
Take some time to learn about how your body works. TTC can be stressful, but it shouldn't be all-consuming.
Live your life as you normally would, and have a ton of sex.
Unless you're inputting temperatures and or CM into that app, it's completely useless. Please do sign up for the FF emails so you learn as much as possible about your body. I found the email lessons super helpful when I started TTC.
