MIL agreed to watch the kids next Saturday night and we were really looking forward to it because the boys are sleeping like crap and we are exhausted. We also planned a yard sale for that morning, early of course, knowing that we wouldn't have the kids that night and could rest. Well she just told me of she can get out of town she's going because she hasn't done anything for her all summer. I get that but you already agreed to keep the kids and DD knows about it and is very excited. It's not like her to back out and they are my kids so I never expect anyone to keep them but oh I'm so disappointed. I really hope she doesn't follow through with going back on her word but just the thought of going from now to possibly September without a night off makes me want to cry. Wahhhh!!!!!

    Oh man. I would totally be bummed too. How crappy that she is going back on her word. Boo. I hope she decides to stay so you can get some you time!

    I would be bummed too.. We haven't had a "night off" since Carson was born!

    I hope she decides to keep her plans to watch your kids so you can have a break. I can't imagine not having a break for that long!

    No, not me. My mom just gets "sick" at inconvenient times. She and my dad are supposed to babysit in September for us to go to an OOT wedding but I'm betting I end up at home.
