Bugaboo chameleon vs Uppababy Vista

Re: Bugaboo chameleon vs Uppababy Vista

  • There's a Nurseries and Baby Gear board that would be a great place for this question.

That said, I don't understand how there's a comparison between the two at all - UBV hands down. For one, it's $200 cheaper and can be converted into a double stroller if you have a second child.

They're also within ~ 2 lbs of each other in weight, but the Bugaboo only holds a child up to 37 lbs where the UBV holds a child up to 50 lbs - so you can use it a lot longer.

The under seat storage in the Bugaboo is also incredibly small compared to the UBV - I couldn't fit my handbag in the Bugaboo basket but it fit great with room to spare in the UBV.

You also have to take the seat completely off to fold the Bugaboo and you don't with the Uppa.

  • Uppababy.
  • We loved the Chameleon. It's like compairing a Lexus and a Mercades. Sure the UBV is a great stroller but if you can and want to spend the money, spring for the Cham. We used the bassinet in house for a few months, rather than purchase one. it was great. For what it's worth, the whole seat thing is no big deal. It takes a few seconds to do. Honestly, it's a top of the line stroller. I think the new one you can collapse without removing the seat.

Without an ounce of snark - what, exactly, makes it top of the line?

I would consider UPPPAbaby in the same class as a Bugaboo. I liked the wheels and quality of the UBV Better than bugaboo. At the time of my purchase, Bugaboo was having a problem with tires going flat and I didn't want to deal with that either. Not sure if the problem still exists. The UBV also comes with a bassinet. I like the idea of the rumble seat for the UBV, that was one of the features I was attracted to. I can now turn my vista into a double stroller! Love mine! so worth every cent.
  • You really can't go wrong with either stroller. my friend has the uppa and we had the cameleon. I absolutely love our cameleon though. In my opinion it was worth the extra $$$. The bassinet was simple to snap into place and we never had any problem with the tires going flat. The c3 does have the feature of folding without removing the bassinet. Our son slept in the bassinet for the first few months. The lining of the bassinet is so much more comfortable than any bassinet we found. I like that it is stable on a flat surface too. It was the simplest stroller to push and it looks stunning. The fabric fits tightly and has such clean lines. It's really gorgeous! They also have the best accessories. I love the new Andy Worhol line they did. So it's even more amazing because you can customize them and change up your look. We got the foot muff for winter to keep our lil one toasty in the cold months. He literally would be too warm if we had a jacket on too. They also have a board Stand which your older one can stand on as you push.

If you are looking to grow your family I would consider the Donkey which has the option to grow into two later on down the line. The donkey wasn't out when our lil man was born. After using the cameleon we simply had to stay in the family and we got the Donkey. It has a huge basket on the bottom and adorable shopper bag for more storage when your in mono mode. I know that wasn't part of your question, but I had to share. It is the narrowest side by side stroller on the market

  • Lol I am bumping mobile, to defend my personal opinion based on personal owner use, hands down everything said above. We just liked and preferred certain features of the Bugaboo. Like I said, both are wonderful options. I just picked the bug and would again.

  • I have to agree that they are side by side comparison. I think both are top of the line. We have gone back and forth on both. You can change out the fabrics on both strollers. They both have nice accessories. The one accessory that the bugaboo would offer over the UPV is the umbrella. The basket on the UPV is much bigger and we prefer the sunshade on the UPV bassinet as well. You can fold up the back to allow more air flow. We decided on the UPV over the Bugaboo. For one, there are less of them where we live. I liked that it would be more unique. My husband and I both liked the telescoping canopy for the UPV. When the child grows taller you can adjust this. I am 5'11" and both of my girls are also tall and outgrew their stroller quickly because their heads would be pushing on the top of the canopy. I like the bassinet stand for the Vista as well. We are using that with the bassinet in our room instead of buying an entirely separate piece. It then can become a laundry hamper or toy storage.

This is our 3rd child and it's been 6 years since we've been stroller shopping. We bought the first Britax Vigor and removing the seat from the base of the stroller for storage was a huge pain in my opinion.

Good luck, I believe you will be happy with either stroller. They are both quality products!
